Imagine tentatively eating your ice cream as you sit between the swirls of green and silver at your table. It was the last day of the Christmas term and everyone was excited to go home and rest. It seemed, everyone except you. Your family weren't the greatest people. Especially to the people you'd chosen to be your friends. Since first year you had surrounded yourself in Gryffindors, most notably the Weasley Twins. You loved the boys dearly (possibly one more than the other, though you'd never say who) and to leave their warm smiles and laughter to the cold and lonely mansion was a depressing thought you didn't want to think about.

You were ripped from your sad thoughts by the many hooting of owls from the evening post. A letter fell in front of your face. You gave the owl a small pet before opening the letter. As you read on you didn't know if you should feel sad or happy. The final bell of the day rang, triggering a chorus of cheers from the students as they filed out of the Great Hall, anxious to get to bed and leave the next day. You stayed where you were though - reading and re-reading the letter.

You were so enthralled by the letter you didn't notice the two red-headed twins walk over to sit next to you.

"Whatcha reading?" George asked in your ear. You jumped and almost dropped the letter.

"Merlin George." You snapped. He grinned as he awaited your infamous smack, but none came. You were still re-reading the letter. Fred noticed the crease between your eyebrows as you stared down at the paper. He gently rubbed your shoulder, edging you to look at him.

"You okay?" He asked softly, concern lining his light brown eyes. Your cheeks were dusted with pink as you put on your best fake smile and stood up.

"Yeah of course, why wouldn't I be?" You said, a little too cheerily. Fred and George both frowned at the same time and stood up to tower over you, but you paid no mind and turned around to quickly walk away. "Wanna go play some Exploding Snap?"

"Rinnie," Fred said warningly. You froze as his nickname for you sunk in - he knew you loved that nickname and it could make you do anything, "Let me read the letter."

"Um no." You retorted sharply, hoping they couldn't see the desperation behind your eyes, "Get your own letter."

Fred and George looked at each other and nodded. George ran up to grab you, from behind, around the waist, trapping your arms and lifted you up. You squealed and struggled in his arms.

"GEORGE PUT ME DOWN!" You screamed. Fred sped in to snatch the letter from you. George kept a firm hold around you and you continued to struggle in his strong arms. You watched in horror as Fred scanned over the page, his face softening with every word. When he had finished he looked towards you with sympathetic eyes. You stopped struggling and George let you go. You stood awkwardly, rubbing your arm and refusing to met their eyes. Fred passed the letter to George, who gasped softly as he read it.

"Rinnie," Fred said softly. His tone of voice was so gentle and sweet, added with his nickname for you, tipped you over. A small sob escaped your lips and suddenly two pair of arms were wrapped around you. Fred leant his head down to rest on your head while George leant his chin on your shoulder from behind. You buried your head into Fred's chest and cried quietly.

"Why didn't you tell us?" George asked kindly after your shaking had slowed. You pushed away from Fred and George let go in surprise. You brushed down your wrinkled clothing.

"I didn't want you to know." You said firmly. Even though your eyes were red and still dripping with tears, you looked at them sturdily. "I didn't want you to do something stupidly noble."

"Since when have you know us to be stupidly noble?" George asked, placing a hand to his heart in offence.

You raised your eyebrows. "I know you guys," You said, wiping your face, "You would just put yourselves in danger if you tried to confront my family," You glared when George opened his mouth, "And I know you would."
