Of Course, My Lady- Miraculous Ladybug One-Shots

I'll Remember

Ladybug and Chat had just finished defeating yet another akuma, this time however, it had drained a surprising amount of the kwami's energy. After finishing their usual fist bump not yet releasing the miraculous healing spell, Marinette realized she only had one dot on her earring.

"We should head out before we-" The blue headed girl started.

Beep beep

"-transform", Ladybug felt a gush of wind around her and red light surround her.

Chat's eyes widened, "Marinette...?"

"H-how do you know me? Do I know you...outside of this?" She gestured to the scene of chaos around them.

"W-well", Chat stuttered surprising the spotted superhero, "You sit behind me in class."

The poor girl was at a loss until she finally managed to stutter out a single name, "A-adrien?"

Chat released his transformation, chuckling, "Surprise?"

Marinette felt herself trying to maintain her composure," N-no kidding", she laughed nervously. She had thought of a lot of people Chat could be when she was bored, or lost track of her thoughts, but never once had she thought it could be Adrien, her not so subtle crush.

Chat had thought a lot more about the matter, he spent almost every waking hour trying to figure out who his lady might be, subconsciously or otherwise. He had his suspicions, but would never ask, knowing that Ladybug wouldn't be comfortable combining the two lives together. However, since he had suspicions he did keep an eye on Marinette in class, how she interacted with people and how she acted when she was alone to see if he could pick on any similarities she and his lady shared. Doing this led to him developing somewhat of a crush on the baker's daughter.

Chat felt all the emotions he had been keeping hidden from his lady swell up inside him all at once. Something to do with finally being able to see behind the mask and the feeling of two loves being combined into one. He touched Mari's arm gently, trying to gain her attention without being too forceful, knowing that the reveal might still be weighing on her mind.

"Hmm?" Ladybug turned to him, slightly dazed, but still giving him her full attention.

Chat took a deep breath and looked her straight in the eye, "Je t'aime."

Marinette's eyes grew wide not only at the words, but at the prospect of them coming from Adrien.

"W-what...?" The girl whispered, almost inaudibly.

"Je t'aime" The boy repeated, a little more nervous this time than he had been previously.

'I'M SUCH AN IDIOT, WHY DID I SAY THAT', Chat thought to himself, to his surprise though, the girl responded very quickly.

"J-Je t'aime aussi", Marinette said, clutching her arms at her chest.

Just then, Marinette felt a tug at her shirt and Tikki popped out.

"W-what is it Tikki? It's kind of a bad time", The girl said.

The kwami flew in front of Marinette and held her gaze for a moment before going on to explain why she had interrupted such a pivotal moment.

"Well, Mari, you...you haven't done miraculous healing yet." The kwami said vaguely.

"Yeah, the transformation wore off before I could" Marinette agreed.

"Well...miraculous healing...it reverts everything to the way it was before the akuma attack, including memories." Tikki finished.

"You don't mean...?"Mari started.

"We won't remember...?" Adrien finished.

"I'm afraid so...", Tikki looked down sadly.

"Adrien...",Ladybug looked over at the boy, " Je t'aime non peu importe quoi."

Adrien looked at her with all the love and admiration he had been keeping inside all this time, "Je t'aime non peu importe quoi."

Tikki, being fully recovered after the short rest, leaped into Marinette's miraculous.

"Miraculous healing!", Mari cried out in a pained voice, feeling the beginnings of tears in her eyes.

Adrien transformed back into Chat so that when he was sure everything was ok he could go home quickly.

A wave of red draped over the city like a satin blanket. Chat looked over at his lady and gave her a small smile.

"Hey", The kitty began, "Do you feel like you're forgetting something?"

"Yeah", Ladybug replied, "But I can't quite put my finger on what."

And then she began to cry.

First of all, I'd like to apologize for the delay in this one-shot. Unfortunately, I've been a bit busy with the holidays and had a surgery on New Year's Eve (quite a way to ring in the New Year, huh?). If there's anything you'd like me to do to make it up to you (Selfie, extra story, longer story next time, etc.) I would be more than happy to appease you.

Second, I didn't use Google translate for any of this chapter, so it should all be in order, that being said I'm only a 1st year French student, so definitely let me know if I made any mistakes.

@Bulle1bulle2 Thank you for pointing out the mistake I made ^^; haha! How embarrassing, I looked back through my notes and realized the word I used for matter was actually 'School subjects'! Why I thought that was the correct usage at the time is beyond me lol. Thanks again!
