Ma Grace shuffled in and pulled her husband to the hall.

"Pa Joe, you can't be serious?"

"On the contrary, I'm very serious. Do you want our daughter to be feared? Do you want her to be hated for something that isn't her fault?" Pa Joe seemed that he had come up with the greatest idea and disregarded any objections.

"We can train her." Pa Joe stabled her arm in his hand, "We can teach her how to win. We can teach her how."

"Joseph. Listen to yourself! How can we, two Plauthanians, possibly teach Orva how to..." she couldn't bring herself to say the word.

"Hack?" Pa Joe finished, "Don't worry. The Conqueror knows what to do." Ma Grace's face was lifted to meet his eyes.

"Do you trust me?"

Ma Grace hesitated, "Always."
