~Emily's P.O.V~
There was a chance that we would one day get caught...but we didn't care. All they would do is banish us to the world above. Where you live..where everything is..I don't want to think about it.
I woke up at 6:30 to get ready for my training. I put on my long sleeve purple shirt, white jeans, and flats. I put my hair up in a bun and grabbed my backpack. Walking down the stairs of my home, I saw my unit eating breakfast. I sat down in my seat.
"Good morning" my mommy greeted.
"Good morning" the rest of us responded in unison.
We all ate breakfast in a cloud of silence. When we finished, my mommy and daddy walked to work. I walked into the secret bedroom that we have downstairs, below ground level.
-Hello sister- I sent to her using telepathy
-Hi, get to school, I love you- she sent back.
That's the most she's transmitted in a long time. She's always kept more to herself. So I walked over and gave her a hug. She squeezed me tight and then something happened. A shock ran through me. I didn't know what was happening until my head fell back and my eyes closed. I was visualizing something. A dream maybe? I think so.
I was walking down the hall..it looked like our home. And I slowly peeked through the door to see my twin, sitting on the floor playing with something. I could easily tell it was a toy ,from above, because of my training. But how did she know about them?
My head snapped up in shock and my eyes grew wide. I was in a cold sweat.
-How did you do that?- I transmitted.
-I don't know. But hurry. Your almost late, and you know what that means.- she said back.
She's right...I do know what that means. The community has very strict rules. You mustn't be late for training...or you get a very "shameful" punishment.
You must wear the cloak of punishment.
Doesn't sound that bad does it? Well it is. When you have it, you are no longer allowed to have your freedom. Your shunned around the community. And worst of all...
You have three days left to live. After that...your gone forever.
