Walking outside you could hear the chatter of excited children obviously on holiday. The children all seemed so excited a wide contrast to their parents looking tired and ready for a long nap or a stiff drink. Watching the children and musing to yourself, Georgia watched you amused. You tripped down the curb and she laughed loudly drawing attention of the crowds of people. "Shut up Georgia" You grumble. "Watch where you're going and you won't trip up" she laughed. "Alright Captain obvious." you say brushing yourself off.
Going to the nearest taxi and your phone buzzed to life. You Groaned stopping to search your pockets, all to find who had text you whilst on the long haul flight. Lifting your phone out and unlocking it, only to find "welcome to America" from O2 on the front screen. You roll your eyes slightly deflated, you slip it back in your blazer pocket. "Where to" The young dark haired cab driver said probably only two or three years older than you wearing a plain black t-shirt and faded jeans his eyes pierced into yours. "Rosewood avenue, Charleston." You say "sure thing sweetheart" He said flashing a cute smile. you looked to Georgia and smiled she was checking him out too. "Do you like rock?" You ask innocently receiving a punch in the arm from Georgia. You force your face straight but it left you with a cute smile from fighting the laugh. "Its alright, Want me to change the radio station?" He asked. "No, Its fine" You say innocently. Your inner devil giggling to itself whilst Georgia shot daggers at you.
He set off and you watched the scenery trying to stay awake. "Here for your holidays?" He asked "No, we're moving over" Georgia said. "Really? What convinced you to leave the UK?" He asked "The promise of a new start" You sighed, forcing your eyes open for the third time. "Well you'll love it here, we're a diverse and wildly accepting town. Though I'd advise you stay outta the seedier areas, you know being new in town and all." He said, you laughed "Thanks, I'll try" You say as he pulled into Rosewood avenue. "Number 185." You say, pulling up the drive of the town house he handed you a bright green business card, "If you ever need a lift give me a call" He said you look at it. "Daniel Kye Taxi Services" you smile "You're Daniel Kye I assume" You say "I am indeed, though I prefer Kye" he said "I'm Alexis and this is Georgia. Thanks for the card, I'll keep it handy. Keep the change." You say handing over the money. "Anytime. Hey, you sure." Kye said "Sure" You say "Here, Let me get the door." He said and came to your side. Opening your door and then for Georgia too. "Thanks Kye, see you round." You say whilst finding the keys and letting yourself in.
"Wow" Georgia gasped following you inside. "It's stunning" You both say at the same time. "But bare." You add "Yeah, it's not lived in" She said. "But it is beautiful" you add "We'll find home here. Somewhere" She said. you sighed "In bed" You laugh "You have an unhealthy obsession with being in bed Lex. You need to get that checked out" She joked "It's not unhealthy, I just love the comfort of being in bed. Deal with it." You laughed. "You're lucky I love you enough to deal with your special kind of crazy" She said "Oh please, you have enough crazy for the two of us." You say locking the door and starting on the unpacking of multiple boxes. Somewhere in these boxes you sure you would find home. You just had to find it.
