I Didn't Know We Would End Up Like This

Chapter 3

                 

Once we arrived at Target, we put on our uniforms (a red collared shirt and khaki pants). I put my red shirt over my Harry Potter shirt, but left enough showing so that someone could read the Always written on the bottom of the shirt. 

     It was about 12:00 pm when I heard "Clean up in Littlest Pet Shop section," in my earpiece. Sigh, Yayyyy,  I thought. I hated these types of days when some imbisole parent lets their destructive child ruin the display. I walked over to the girls toys department to find a tall, handsome man trying to clean up the toys. He looked strangely familiar.

"Hey, do I know you?" I asked.

"Probably not. I'm Joey Richter," he said while standing up. I then realized how tall he was, about 6' 1". 

I know that name, I thought. I just couldn't figure out where I heard it.

"I'm Hazel Corable," I said.

"Hey, I'm sorry about what happened. This girl and my friends need these for something." When he said that he was here with a girl, I felt deflated.

"So what are your friends going to do with all of these Littlest Pet Shops?" I asked while bending over to start picking them up.

"Well we don't really know yet," he said while bending over to help me. "But I think we were planning on making this thing called 'Puppykitties'."

"Strange," I say. "I like it." And as we stood up to put the LPS back, I saw him glance down at the hem of my shirt where it said Always.

"And I like your shirt," he said.

"Thanks. I got it for my birthday," I say. "So who's your favorite character in Harry Potter?"

"Well at the moment, Ron Weasley," he said.  "Hey, do you think that maybe we can hang out sometime?" he asked while blushing a little.

"Sure," I answer, and I felt my face turn red. "I'll give you my number and then we can figure things out."

"Ok," he says while taking out his phone.

     As I was starting to tell him my number, Cassidy comes on the loud speaker and says,

"We are missing  a child named..." and was cut off by a woman screaming

"JOSEPH MICHAEL RICHTER!!! GET YOUR GODDAMN ASS OVER HERE WITH THOSE LITTLEST PET SHOPS OR YOUR ASS IS WALKING HOME!!!"

Joey had turned a bright red and then went pale as a ghost. I had finished giving him my number and after I was done he grabbed about 7 Littlest Pet Shop sets, said bye, and took off running to the register.

     I didn't realize who he was until he was gone.
