We finally land, we get our bags and our truck that were once on a plane that is now in the parking lot. My mom and dad slowly put things from the plane into the truck, which was on a different plane. I hurry and move things into it.

"Leo," My dad stops me. "Get a taxi, we'll be a while." I nod and pull him into a hug. Slapping his back before I pull away. Makayla asks to go with, but my mom says me and Alex should have alone time right then for something so important.

I get a taxi, hand him twenty dollars, and tell him to go to Elkhart General Hospital. It's too far away, and he drops me off at a bus stop that will take me to another bus stop, and another, and then I'll get there.

I'm not paying attention, but it feels like three hours away. I tap my foot every time I sit. I need to get to Alex. Her time could be up any minute, and I want to see her before it does. I look through the messages, and her last post on Facebook was a few weeks ago. It's something funny, something you don't get from her much.

I finally get to the hospital, running my hand through my hair every place I sit. I almost run to the front desk.

"Hi, what room is Alexandra Mae Rain in?" I ask the girl, out breath, she looks at the computer screen on the side. It has a list or room numbers, floors, and peoples name. I lean over the desk, moving my eyes to the screen. I find her name before she does. "Thank you," I say before I lightly jog down the hall into the elevator.

5th floor, room 666. Time seems to slow down when I get into the elevator, people around me. When the doors finally open, I'm the first one out, pushing one girl lightly out of the way. I rush down the hall to get to room 666.

I look on the walls, a number in dark red letters on each of them. Some saying OFFICE instead. I find room 665, and I jog to the next room. A nurse walks out looking at a clipboard.

"Alexandra is in there, right?" I grab the nurse's wrist gently. She turns to face me and nods.

"Are you her brother or a relative?" The nurse asks. She has a really deep voice, surprisingly.

"A friend," I put my hand on the door handle. I almost turn it. What will I find in there? Alex. Alive and healthy, I have to hope. But she won't be like that. Why else would she be in a hospital? She's not okay. She never was. I turn the handle, pushing the door slowly. I wonder if she's awake. I hope she's awake.

When I open the door, there is another door to my left. A bathroom, I assume. I can see the end of the bed, the shape of feet under the covers. I take a deep breath before I step forward.

There she is. Alex's face wrapped in bandages, blood soaking through them. Her head tilted towards the white painted ceiling. I can't see an inch of skin. Her arms are, too. It's like she isn't even there, just her body. The air is cold. I can't help but look at her body.

I race over to her, leaning my body over her. I put her hand in mine, sitting next to her. I think it's a minute after I just stand there, looking at the bandages that cover her face, the face that I only knew on the big screen, but now real life. But I can't really see it, it's covered. I'm here with her body, that's good enough for me.

I feel her finger twitch in my hand. A smile is put on my face.

"Doc?" Alex asks, her head moves towards me. God, her voice is adorable. It's' shy and quiet, and sounds so much better in real life. Maybe she can see me. But I think she'd say something else if it was me, or maybe she just doesn't care to see me. So many things come to my mind. I don't say any. I squeeze her hand, my head falling on the bed she lays on, which I see some blood under the covers. "Your hurting me." I let go of her bandaged hand. Her voice is more quiet in real life, it sounds weak, like it's not really there. "Can my bandages be taken off yet?"
