As she stood in front of him, she could take the distance. She swiftly wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him close. The action was too quick for Nathan to react. Letting him go, Tara closed the door and looked up at him.
“Nathan I’m so sorry,” She said softly. “I came right over when I heard the news. How is your dad? What did the doctors say? Why are you hear and not at the hospital.”
For the past couple of seconds, Nathan let Tara continue to ramble on and fire of question. He finally got the answer that he wanted. She did care about him because if she didn’t she wouldn’t care one way or another if his father was ok or not because at the end of the day she was getting paid regardless.
Taking a couple steps forward, he silenced her by abruptly pulling her in his arms and kissing her on the lips, his tongue sliding in her mouth. He ran his hand through her hair, gripping it gently as their kiss began to send him over the edge and into overdrive. It was raw, sexual, and filled with desire. He loved the feel of her lips on his, he couldn’t wait for them to be on other parts of her body.
Breaking the kiss, Nathan stood back and laced his fingers with hers, guiding her to the sofa.
"To answer all your questions, my dad is stable right now," Nathan explained. " I found him last night on the kitchen floor with him not breathing. I did CPR and called an ambulance. When we got there they said my father would have died if I had not acted quickly."
Tara closed her eyes, lowering her head. She could hear the pain that was laced through his words. Her heart reached out to his. Knowing how it felt to lose a father, she hoped that his father would pull through.
"The doctors only told me that he'll be in ICU until they find out why his heart stopped. In the meantime he should get comfortable," he continued. Tara's eyes widen. She couldn't imagine a doctor saying something at a time like this but Nathan put all her negative thoughts to rest and told her, " the doctor didn't say that. I was just saying."
"How's your mother?" Tara could stop herself from asking. She couldn't fathom the idea of a wife’s mental state when her husband was in serious condition in the hospital.
“She’s just like my father,” Nathan gave her a small smile, “tough as nails.”
Tara took a deep breath. “How are you doing?"
Nathan thought about the question and know exactly what she was asking but instead decided to change the subject. Already leaving the hospital with a heavy load, he was to get his mind together and not think about his father. He was fin at the moment, stable. No sense in worrying at the moment.
"So have you come up with a good menu for the party?" Nathan questioned.
The Christmas party at the agency was the last thing on Tara's brain and she thought it would be hidden in Nathan's, but she got the hint that he want to talk about something different. She just wished that he would open up more to her.
