Vampire Soulmates?

Chapter One

I walked into my new school with my head down. it was my first day and I didn't know anyone. I could feel everyone's eyes on me and my cheeks burned. Funny, I didn't think it was possible for someone like me to blush anymore. I guess I will have to ask Jason about that. There is so much to learn. But sadly he wants me to go to school. I thought about the day he brought it up, three months after he turned me.

FLASHBACK~~~~~

"Kai, I'm going to enroll you in high school again." I gaped at him. Really????

"But why?" What? School? Was this particular vampire insane? I'm still a new born. I could hurt someone. Why do I have to go back to school?

He sighed, "I should have waited until you graduated to turn you, but I just wanted you so much. Everyday that passed I was scared the temptation would get to me."

Jason was forever 19 years old. He was turned the day after his graduation by some rogue vampire who was sloppy. I met him the summer before my junior year at a concert. It was love at first sight. We have been together since that day. He changed me two days before school started and I had my 'funeral' a week later.

Now, three months later, we have moved away from my home town. Far away. We live in London together now. He is teaching me everything I need to know about being a vampire. We are supposed to be getting married next year.

"But the things I want to learn can only be taught by you!" I crossed my arms stubbornly.

"Kai, you need to finish high school at least once. Please just do this for me?" He stared into my eyes and I broke. I hissed in defeat and his eyes shone with triumph.

END FLASHBACK~~~~~

I walked into my first period class and went to the teacher. Because I was 'dead' Jason enrolled me under a fake last name. So now I am Kai Jameson instead of Kai Maldonado. The teacher introduced me to the class and I sat in the back with my head down as I struggled to pay attention.

A piece of paper landed on my desk. I looked to my left and a pretty girl with curly waist-length blonde hair mouthed "read it". I looked at the paper. It said 'Hi. I'm Amberly Santaisa.' What a pretty name. I wrote back. 'Hi. I'm Kai.'

I threw the paper back on her desk. The teacher shot us a look so she didn't answer. When the bell finally rang I jumped up. probably a little too fast for a human to be able to jump up. Amberly blinked as if to make sure that didn't happen. I'm going to have to be careful or i'll be figured out fast. I walked out the door but Amberly caught up with me. I guess I just made my first friend. I smiled at the thought.

Amberly ended up having the same exact Schedule as me. She said it was a sign that we were destined to be best friends. I just laughed at that. I didn't believe in destiny. Once we got to class I took out my thermos. Jason said that it was absolutely important that I never forget it.

"You don't want to get too thirsty around them," He told me this morning.

I drank and sighed slightly as the warm, thick liquid ran down my throat. I put the cap back on the thermos and shoved it in my bag. This teacher didn't introduce me. I thought it was a small blessing until at least 5 notes landed on my desk. All of them asking who I was and introducing themselves. Not wanting to be rude I answered all of them. Quickly I grew annoyed with writing 'Hi I'm Kai.'

Luckily, the announcements came on and saved me. I was going to talk to Amberly but this teacher had assigned seating and she was seated across the room.  When the bell rang we went to our next class. The rest of the classes were the same. Everyone passing me notes. I wanted to blend into the wall and disappear. Finally, it was time for lunch. I got a chicken sandwhich and went to sit with Amberly and her friends. I accidentally bumped into someone.

"Ow. Watch where you're going..." A deep silky voice said. I looked up to find gorgeous personified glaring at me.

I may be engaged but I can appreciate looks when I see them. He was staring at me. he had the exact same shade of violet eyes that I did. I had to be imagining that. I blinked and checked again. Now they were green. Woah.

"Um, sorry, I didn't see you." I mumbled lamely and walked off. Embarrassed, I sat down next to Amberly while she made the introductions.

"This is Jaxon Brooding." She motioned towards a boy with black hair that fell just above his eyes, which were blue, and had a really tan complexion. He also wore glasses.

"Hi. Nice to meet you." He said.

"This is Kimberly Sal." She said pointing to a slightly overweight girl. She had shoulder-length red hair and pretty hazel eyes. She had a heart shaped face. She smiled at me.

"And this is Mason Moore," She hugged the boy who just walked to the table. It became obvious they were together when he kissed her. He was tall and had shaggy blonde hair with vibrant green eyes. He was muscular and I guessed he worked out. A lot.

"HI. What's your name?" He asked since he missed that part of the introduction.

"Kai Jameson." I shook his hand and we all started eating. I drank some more out of my thermos abandoning the milk I had gotten from the line. They all talked about an upcoming party but I wasn't paying attention. I felt someone's eyes on burning into me. I looked up to see the boy I bumped into earlier staring at me. he didn't look away as most people would have if they had been caught staring.

He held my gaze and it felt like I was in a trance. I felt the air around us crackle, like their was some kind of electric current in the room. Everyone melted away and all I could focus on were his eyes. once again they took on the same violet shade. I snapped out of it when I heard Kimberly trying to get my attention. I glanced at him one more time. He wasn't looking at me anymore and his eyes were green again.

"Hello? Earth to Kai?" She said.

"Sorry, I spaced out. What's up?"

"I asked if you were going with us to the party on Saturday?" Jaxon asked. He looked hopeful. I got the feeling he had a crush on me.

"Um, I don't know. I'll ask my fiancé if he has any plans for us." I glanced back at where that boy was sitting but he was gone. I have to figure out his name.

"Oh." Jaxon said. He sounded slightly rejected. Yup, he has a crush on me.

After school I got a text from Jason saying he would be home later. I walked home since we didn't live too far away from school.

Well, there is the first chapter. I hope yall enjoy it. I'll keep updating as fast as I can. I only have so much of the story already written. I haven't picked up this story in a few years. so once I get to the end of what I've written it might take awhile between updates cause I've had writers block.
