Vampire Soulmates?

Going through the rest of the day was difficult. I wouldn't get Malik out of my head. What was wrong with me? I'm engaged for fucks sake! I just need to focus. I have Jason. He is the love of my life. THat's all I need. Right? When the bell rang to leave, Amberly said she would pick me up at seven for the party tomorrow. I walked out and started going home when Malik caught up to me.

"Hey Kai." He smiled at me.  I didn't answer for a moment. Hearing his seductive voice out of nowhere shocked me. He laughed and draped his arm around my shoulder.

"Um. Hi." I shook his arm off. He seemed slightly annoyed but continued talking.

"You going to that party tomorrow?" He kept pace with me, which was surprising cause I was walking a little faster than the average human. Then again he seemed pretty muscular.

"Yeah, your sister is picking me up tomorrow." I stared at him. he is so gorgeous. He looked back at me as if he was waiting for something.

"Hello?" He said smiling.

"Hmm?" He must've asked me something while I was staring at him.

"I said do you mind if I tag along? I have nothing to do tomorrow and I don't want to just sit around the house all day."

We stopped in front of my house and I told him that was fine. We stood in silence for a few minutes. His eyes flashed violet again. He hugged me and held me so my face was only inches away from his. He started to lean in and I thought he was going to kiss me. My pulse sped up.

I knew I shouldn't let him kiss me, but I wanted him to. Just before our lips could touch, the door opened. He tried to hold me to him but I jumped out of his arms. Jason looked as if he didn't see anything but I knew better. Jason sees and knows a lot. Malik stuck out his hand and shook Jason's.

"Hi. You must be Kai's DAD." He put emphasis on the word dad as if to say he looks old. Jason smirked and glared at Malik. If looks could kill.

"No," He said and pulled me to his side, "I'm her fiancé." I could hear the venom in his words.

I saw Malik's eyes turn black. He balled up his fists and I thought he was going to hit Jason. I stepped in front of Jason and took a protective stance. No matter how gorgeous Malik is, no one was going to hurt my fiancé. His eyes widened in surprise and I saw his arms relax. he looked from me to Jason and back to me.

When he met my eyes I could see the unmistakable hurt in his eyes. I stood up straight and stepped back to Jason's side. I started to say something but I wasn't sure what to say. Malik gave me a small, sad smile. He waved and then walked away.

"I don't like the way he looks at you."

I was getting ready for the party and Jason was being pissy because Malik would be there. I sighed and turned to face him.

"You're the one who wanted me to go to school. You're also the one who told me that the reason humans can get so attracted to vampires is so that we can feed on them easier. Now you get to deal with it. Besides, why would I want Malik, a human, when I have you?" He smiled and leaned in to kiss me.

"Kai...there is something I haven't told you yet. I wanted to wait because I didn't want you to freak out." I put down the brush and stared at him, waiting.

"I love you Kai, but it's more than that. The reason I felt so drawn to you, even as a human, I s because you're my soul mate, and I'm your soul mate."

I just stood there. I've never believed in soul mates. the thought that you have only one person you're truly meant to be with just seems ridiculous to me. soul mates would fall under the category of destiny, which I don't believe in. He seemed to see the disbelief on my face.

"Kai...think about it, the immediate attraction, immediate love. The automatic recognition. I know you don't believe in destiny but how can you deny the proof? I love you Kai, please understand, we are soul mates."

I thought about what he said. It's true. When we first made eye contact I knew his name without him telling me. My heart jerked in it's ribcage with the amount of love that rushed over me. so, I guess it's true. I found my soul mate. It's a weird thought.

I placed my hands on either side of his face and kissed him softly. When we pulled apart I whispered, " I love you...soul mate."

He wrapped me in a huge hug and spun me around. he leaned in to kiss me but the sound of Amberly's car horn stopped him. I laughed and told him I would be back later tonight. I kissed him one more time and went to get in the car.

"Hey Amberly, Malik. What's up?" I asked. Malik was sitting in the back, leaving me to sit with Amberly up front.

I caught his eye in the rearview mirror. once again they flashed violet before returning to their normal green. That was getting really weird. I wanted to ask why that happened but didn't. I knew they would think I was hallucinating or something.

"Nothing much. You ready to party?" Amberly asked. She looked amazing in a light purple mini-dress with silver pumps. Malik was just in jeans and a t-shirt. I put on a mini-dress as well. Except mine was a jean dress and I was wearing gold heels to match my purse.

"Duh!" I smiled at her. "So where is this party?"

"Mason's adoptive parents own a club. They are seriously cool and let him have a party every week. They turn a blind eye and he serves alcohol as well. But the club is amazing." She smiled at me as we pulled up to the club.

Malik helped me out of the car and the three of us walked into the party. All eyes landed on me. The guys especially. Malik stared them all down. Amberly dragged me onto the dance floor and started grinding on me. The two of us had every guys attention. Every girl in the club glared at us while their dates pretty much drooled over us.
