“Robert, come over here and look at this.” I told my Alpha via mind link. I was looking at the most peculiar thing; a she-wolf chasing a little bluebird around. She was acting like a pup, maybe she is a pup. She doesn’t look any bigger than a twelve year old; she’s so skinny she looks sick. I’m getting sick just by looking at her; I can almost see her ribs but at least she has some meat on her bones. The little she-wolf jumped up at the bird snipping at it playfully but once she lands she looks around with a worry written all in her golden eyes. I slink back so she can’t see me but in the process I startle a rabbit and I runs into the bushes in front of me. The she-wolf crouches down growling at the rustling bushes in front of her, I slink back some more because I really don’t want her to see me. She stops growling once she sees that the rustling was caused by the little rabbit that I had just scared off.

I heard her let out a chuckle and it sent tingles through me touching a part of me that I locked away forever. She had just lain down under a spruce tree when Robert, Crystal and my brother showed up.

“What is it Daniel?” my brother asked annoyance written all over his face.

“There’s a rogue she-wolf over there lying down under a tree. She probably just got here and from the looks of it she’s weak and tired. Just a moment ago she was playing with a bluebird; she has to be no older than twelve. She is skittish from what I can see; for a rogue though she looks like she doesn’t have any prior training and she isn’t in the condition that we normally find rogues in; which honestly is confusing.” I said as I rattled off my report.

“Alpha it’s your call, what do we do?” My brother Diego asked Robert.

“We could do the scare tactic that we usually do before we take her in for trespassing. How does that sound?” He asked looking between us and our Luna, Crystal.

“Yeah, let’s do that; let’s scare the crap out of a ROGUE SHE-WOLF. Does anyone else see the problem here? We don’t know how she could act,” I said with my voice rising up a whole octave.

“Whoa there Daniel, I don’t want my only brother singing soprano just yet. Wait I take that back, I don’t want you to sing soprano at all, I love you too much and plus we need more manly men in the world. I do want you to join me on the dark side though. Come on bro, we have cookies!” Diego chuckled in my head using his Darth Vader voice.

“Alright you know the drill, get in formation,” Robert snapped at us.

The four of us got into a V formation, well as best as we could because with four people it just turns into a rhombus after a while. We started to slink forward quietly; the little she-wolf was asleep. We were watching her when I moved my paw forward and stepped on a twig snapping it in the process. Robert’s head whipped to the side, “Great going Daniel, now she knows that we’re here.”

“Sorry Alpha, it was an accident.”

“Whatever, just after I got out there wait for thirty seconds. I want this one to be so scared she wets herself.”

“Robert, you are the meanest yet funniest person I’ve ever known.”

  “Don’t you know it kid.”

The little she-wolf raised her head up looking around with worry written all over her face. She stands up and starts to make her way towards us slowly. That is until she saw Robert walk out of the bushes, then she just looked scared, “Now.” Robert said through our mind link.
