"What? Labour? What do you mean? She's not even pregnant!" I exclaim.

He frowns. "Well, yes, she is." He says manner-of-factly and then it hits him. "Oh. Oh! They didn't tell you, did they?"

"No!" I say, shocked. This can't be possible. Why wouldn't they tell me? They've had nine months, for Christ's sake.

"Wow. That's bad."

"I'll fucking kill them." I say under my breath and he chuckles.

"Easy, Tiger." he smiles. "I know you're angry, but you'd regret it, I know you would." He puts a hand on my shoulder. "She's in labour, she went in about half an hour ago. Sebastian said he'll update me." He says. I give up and fold myself into him. He hugs me tight. I'm so angry.

I don't understand how and why they didn't tell me! I was going to find out someday, unless they intended to get me out of the way so I couldn't find out....

"I fucking hate them!" I exclaim and hit his chest hard. He grabs my fists and holds them together to stop me.

"Come on, now. Calm down. It's alright. Shush." he mutters and I begin to cry.

"Why wouldn't they tell me?" I sob.

"Shush, Sweetie. Come on. It's alright. There's nothing you can do now, anyway." he says. I close my eyes and before I know it, I'm asleep.

"It's a girl." Dad says. I look up at him. Somehow I managed to get into my bed last night, I don't remember that happening. He must have carried me.

"Is... is she alright?" I ask, though I don't really care. They've replaced me and I'm over it already as far as I'm concerned.

"Well, not exactly..." He says, making me sit up.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, there were complications, let's say..."

"What complications?"

"I don't know, exactly. That's all I've been told." He shrugs. "She's alive, at least."

"Is Mary okay?" I ask, suddenly worried. I don't care about the baby, I didn't even know about its existence until a few hours ago, but I do care about Mary. Very much. I couldn't bear it if lost a second mother...

"As far as I know, Mary's fine." He says, putting my mind at rest.

"Thank God." I sigh, relieved.

"Listen, we have a big day ahead of us, alright? A lot to do. I'm going to introduce you to some of my contacts."

"Why?" I ask him, biting my lip nervously. "All your contacts are criminals. Are you sure you want a seventeen year old around them?"

"They won't do anything to you, Sophia. I'll make sure of that."

So he takes me to this place that's called the CO. The Criminal Organisation. Such a creative name and not suspicious at all. It makes me laugh when I hear it, causing Dad to shoot me a look of anger and amusement. I'm sure he had the same reaction as me when he first hear it. It's the classic, men gathered around a large round table in a dimly lit room, all smoking cigars, looking intimidating and not trusting each other. I really do feel like I'm in a film. I sit next to Dad and some old guy.

"So, this is the daughter of the infamous Moriarty? Didn't she kill someone at eleven?" The main guy asks. I keep my mouth shut because that's what Dad told me to do - just keep quiet, unless I'm told otherwise.

"Yes, this is my daughter and yes she did kill a person at the age of eleven." He says. I look at the floor. Thanks for telling everyone, Dad. Really fucking appreciate it.

"Hmm, impressive. Tell me, Sophia, why are you interested in joining the CO?" He asks me. I look at him.

"I wish to follow in my father's footsteps. After all, this kind of thing is in my blood." I shrug.

"In your blood? Does she know anyone significant?" He asks Dad.

"Well, she's let's say romantically involved with Sherlock Holmes. And I'm sure you all know who his brother is..." He says. Romantically involved? Jeez, he kissed me once for information, that's all. I have to stop myself from sniggering.

"Mycroft Holmes... very impressive. So, what use is she to us?" He asks. I can see him looking me up and down in a way I'm not particularly fond of. Out of the corner of my eye, I can spot Dad's fists clenching.

"She can get information. Anything you need on Mycroft."

"Sounds useful. What do the rest of you think?" He asks the remainder of the table.

"Prostitute her." Someone with a deep voice says. Dads stands up and hits the table hard.

"Who said that? Huh? Who said it?" He yells, looking at everyone in turn as I shrink in my seat, wishing I was anywhere else.

"Me," A man, with possibly the best beard I've ever seen in my life, owns up. Dad looks him in the eye, straightens his own suit, and then walks over to him.

"What was your suggestion about my daughter, again?" He hisses, standing behind the man. Everyone else stays completely silent.

"Prostitute her. You'd make a lot, I reckon."

Suddenly, in one swift move, Dad brings his hands and breaks the man's neck, killing him instantly.

"Dad!" I exclaim. "Shit!" I gasp. He just killed a man because of me... shit. "Oh, my God..." I put my hand to my mouth. Everyone is looking at me. This isn't the kind of reaction they wanted from me, I guess.

"He deserved it." He says calmly and sits back down beside me.

I look at him. "Dad..."

"Those in favour of accepting Sophia into the CO, raise your hand." The leader says. He counts thirteen. "And those not in favour?" He asks. A few go up. "Well, congratulations, Sophia Moriarty, you are now part of the CO."

"You didn't need to kill him, Dad." I tell him on the way out.

"He suggested that I sell my daughter's body. If I didn't do it, someone else would've. In a much more painful way, trust me." He says, raising his eyebrows. We get back into the Rover, which is very much out of place amongst the Mercs and Audis.

"Still, though... I feel really bad." I mutter.

"I'm going to teach you to kill without remorse. Let me just fill you in on what would've happened if I hadn't done that when I did. You would've been accepted into the CO. They would ask for 'private training sessions' and rape you. If I hadn't shown them that they're not to fuck or fuck with you, you would've been wishing you were dead." he says bitterly. "So, if I were you, I'd be thankful that right now."

"Thank you." I spit at him. He sighs and we pull off. I tuck my knees up to my chin and close my eyes. I try hard to get the sound of the man's neck snapping in two.
