I awoke to see Ethan not there? Puzzled I looked around. Suddenly I heard footsteps and a lot of foosteeps and the sound of vans. I jumped up and ran over to Matt who seemed to have been awoken by the noise too. He rubs his eyes, and clambers to his feet. He looks at me. I look at him.
" Where's Ethan" he says puzzled.
I don't know but we got to RUNN! I shout as I see from the corner of my eye soldiers as well as vans coming our way. He throws himself toward his backpack grabs it and runs north with me. The gunshots cracked into the air as thunder. In comparison they were tinny and small, coming from one direction only. There are times that a retreat from conflict is bravery, not cowardice. Sometimes you should let the enemy take ground and find another route around to eventual victory. To proceed in this current time would be foolishness considering the positions they hold and the shear number two against hundreds maybe even thousands. This is one time I will not fight. Matt's breath came in small spurts, hot and nervous. At his sides, his fingers curled into sweaty fists, swinging forward as if it would make him faster. Behind me, I could hear the baying howls of the dogs and jeering laughter of the soldiers. Mud covered my boots and sweat dripped from Matt's matted hair.
We were gaining speed but the vans would surely catch us up. Where the fuck is Ethan screamed my brain upset and confused. Bullets flying strait past us. Suddenly a bullet soars strait past my face, that was close. AHHHHHHH!!!! I scream as the bullet that was soaring across the sky gets me strait in the side. I look down instead of a neat reddened hole it was oozing with dark congealing blood and the putrid smell was enough to initiate a gag reflex. I raised my hand to my mouth and then Bang! Another one hits me it the leg, I drop to the ground. Matt spins round to my aid.
"NOOOO run leave me go!"
" I'm not going to leave you, I love you! " I stare at him as he starts to fade and spin I hear him shouting wake up!
