I walked slowly towards the door to leave home. I looked down the street to see my bus coming shakily up the street. I could see the motion of the children noisily talking and passing back and forth gestures as it got closer and closer.
Before I could make a single step out the door, I felt a hand slowly and a little forcefully grab my shoulder. I turned to see my mom standing tall above me with a sly look on her face.
"Oh hey mom," I said eagerly looking back and forth from the bus coming closer and closer to the house, to my mother standing strangilly above me.
"Ashley?" She said with a concerned tone. Her hand was still placed lightly on my shoulder. "We need to talk after school."
"Okay!" I chirped. I turned again to the bus which was now in front of my driveway. I continued opening the door and stepped outside. "See ya after school mom!"
She waved and closed the door behind me. I run to the bus and hopped up the steps, looking out the window at my mom's concerned look staring back at me as I looked out the frosted window of the bus.
