Chapter Twelve
Waking up from this awful dream, I got ready to take the bus. You know, the usual, putting on the outfit that I just got out from my closet, going downstairs to eat my breakfast, putting my light makeup on and finally brushing my teeth. I was now ready to get out the door to take the school bus.
Approaching my locker, I noticed that my math teacher was walking in my direction... "Oh oh, what did I do this time." I thought.
"Hi Emily, How was your weekend?"
I wanted to say "The worst of them all!", but I answered this instead because I still wanted to be respectful:
"It was pretty much okay."
"I'm glad to hear that!", Mr. Brian said in his usual monotone voice.
"Look.", he continued. "I need to tell you something. You know that algebra test comming up?"
I look up at him, uncertain what to say.
"Umm, yes"
"Well, since you've gotten Fs on both you last quizzes, if you get another one, I'm gonna have to fail you. I suggest you get a tutor. I could get it all set up for you. If you'd like.", he looked down at me.
"Oh, would you do that Mr. Brian? Thank you so much! I try and do better but I just don't understand!"
...
I was painting a flower on the mural in the gymnasium. It's a yearly thing. Every year, each student is told what to add on the mural. Today, it was my turn. A bunch of kids from my gym class and my english class were here too.
I stood up and admired my flower. I was one of many dozens. Above them, lying in the grass was our school mascot. A beaver. Lame, I know. He was munching on a tree. Above him, a smiling sun was laughing at cloud shapes. Those were mainly peace signs. On the other side of the gym was a river with a beaver dam smack dab in the middle. Above this, were the words: Welcome to the dam! Home of the beavers!. Peppered all around the mural were sentences like: Beavers stop bullying. and Let's all succeed together!. Sickening.
Gathering my paintbrushes, I head towards the washroom to clean them. Just as I turned the corner, I ran into someone! The dirty paintbrushes smeared pink and orange all over their shirt.
I quickly stood up and apoligised.
"Oh my gosh! I am so sorry!"
I realized it was Lizzy. The girl from Victoria's Secret!
"Oh, don't worry, I hate this shirt.", she then looked up herself. "Oh, it's you."
"I am sooooo sorry!", I repeat super embarrassed.
Just than the bell rang.
"I better go.", she said.
"Ya.", was all I could think of.
I made my way very carefully towards the washroom and cleaned off those sinister paintbrushes.
After all that, I then I made my way towards class. I had full intention to explain to Mr. Brian why I was late, but, when I got to class Mr. Brian was nowhere to be found! The supply teacher came up to me and explained that Mr. Brian had an emergency and that he, Mr. Benny, would be filling in. He also asked if I could please head to the main office and grab myself a tardy slip.
Doing as he had asked, I sigh. This will make my second time being late for math!
Once I got back to class, I had to work on my stupid project with Brittney. Talk about awkward, humiliating and aggravating.
