“Hey I just met you and this is crazy but here’s my number so call me maybe” Miranda sang twirling from clothes rack to rack I shook my head she had no clue how accurate that song was to finding your mate it was that instantaneous “ Before you came into my life I missed you so bad ….. It’s hard to look right at you baby” her eyes were always shinning why couldn’t someone like her be Xander’s mate she was so pure so full of life so emotional but then again he might hurt her, I snarl at that causing Miranda to eye me oddly “You don’t like?” she held up a skirt.
“Not really” I covered up before holding up a white dress “do you think he would like this Mi?”
She tapped her chin carefully “It’s beautiful I love the bodice it’s unexpected you have to try it on.”
“That’s what you said about the other stuff” she dismissed me with a wave of her hand
“they weren’t worth trying on”
“How long have you known Xander?” Mi asks as I head for a dressing room
“Most of my life”
“That’s so cute Abby”
“It’s one date we’re not walking down the aisle tomorrow”
“You will one day” I freeze at her innocent assessment , sometimes I have a feeling she knows more than the average human should “ and your babies would be so edible” I pale at babies .
“Stay in the present with me Miranda your planning my funeral before I’m casket ready”
“What could possibly go wrong?”
Everything. Tentatively I emerge “Abigail” Miranda whispered her eyes losing their ever constant shine
“Do I look that bad?” I choke holding back tears
“Abby take off your glasses toss ‘em here” I obey shakily she caught them easily “ You look sexy babe if I were Xander I’d be a very lucky man” that made me smile my heart raced if she thought I was pretty I wonder how Xander would take it
“I still look like me?” She nods putting my glasses in her bag “You’re not lying to me right?”
“I wouldn’t waste money on a lie” that was the best I was going to get but I loved it all the same
Paying for it I sling the dress over my arms “ What a pleasant surprise Luna” I groan inwardly that horrible high pitched voice could be heard miles from here she wouldn’t make a very good burglar that’s for sure her golden eyes fell on the dress “ Going to a party”
“None of your damn business” Miranda snapped
“I wasn’t talking to you, learn your place little girl grown women are talking” I growl low enough for her to hear I didn’t appreciate the meaning “ I was just trying to be friendly Luna”
“Friendly my ass do us a favor and go back to being our ‘superior’ at least I didn’t have to see your face”
“Little girl” Kassandra snapped “ I’m sick of your mouth I don’t care if you’re my Luna’s pe-“
“Enough” I snarled Alpha command slipping into my voice “ what do you want Kassandra?”
“To wish you a good time on your date tomorrow Xander is really looking forward to it” of course the bitch would know
that put me on edge immediately “Is that all?” I ask keeping my tone even my eyes locked on her she nods a fake smile on her lips “Then you may go now” there was no disputing an Alpha command but even if I hadn’t used it I doubt she would have stayed anyway
“Have a good day Luna, oh and try to have fun tomorrow” hairs at the back of my neck her words held an undertone a secret message I didn’t like what was she up to?
“Ignore her; the one thing I hate in this world is a hating whore with an empty schedule and a car especially a car”
“Why a car?”
“Because a whore on wheels can get anywhere I wouldn’t be too shocked if she had a GPS on you somewhere
I laugh as we head for the exit but her little “visit” was always at the front of my mind
Miranda must of known because when she dropped me off she touched my hand “ Forget about it, Abby she’s all air in that head over hers nothing is going to go wrong tomorrow you’ll see”
I smile “ You’re right”
“Call me an hour before he’s supposed to come so I can help you get ready”
“I will” she released me and pulled out of the drive
As I went to bed I smiled and thought of Xander but I’ll never tell him that
