I bone chilling moan was coming from behind that door. I couldn't move I was so scared of what might be behind there. There was a hole in the door smaller than a key hole. I tried to peek through it to see what was inside. I saw a man or animal. I could tell because it was so mangled. He or it was missing body parts and was covered in its own blood. It laid on the floor clutching its legs, sobbing. I wanted to help it but was afraid of it.

I woke up in my bed. I didn't remember walking back to my room last night. But I do remember the thing. I ran and told my parents what I saw. They both looked at each other with worry written on there brow.

Later that afternoon they told me we where going for a field trip but my brother would stay with my grandma and it would only be us three. I could see that my mother was holding back tears. I asked her "Mommy...are you okay. You seem sad. Did I do something wrong." and with those words my mother fell apart in my father's arms. "We can't take her just yet. Please let's let her stay for a little while longer." Being young I didn't know what they where taking about.

That night I ended up back at the door again. The creature seemed to be a little better, pain wise. This time I reached from the knob. It turned and with the sound of it, the creature scuttled into a corner. I walked into the room, half faking that I was fearless, and walked to the center on the room. It smelled terrible. I hade to pull the top of my little mermaid nightgown over my nose. There was a little light from the high windows. The creature could see me and I could see it. Well him.
