"So are you going to be alright," Kimberly says taking a seat next to me at the cafeteria tables.
"Yeah I'll be fine it's just that there has been a lot of things going on here lately." I say taking a bite of my apple.
"If you're talking about what happened yesterday with my brother then just forget it. He's an asshole Bridgett," she says huffing.
"No, asshole doesn't even begin to describe him," I say looking over at her, "and anyways that's not what I was talking about. Mom and dad agreed to let Jordan and his kids move in with us and his wife is living with the Washburn's."
"That doesn't sound so bad," she says looking up from her tray.
"The guy is a creep," I say getting annoyed. "He constantly tells me how pretty I am and that he wishes that he was younger so that he could go out with me or marry me."
"Yeah that is a little creepy. Did you tell your mom?"
"My mom is in the room every time he says it." I say contemplating taking another bite of my apple but decide I've lost my appetite.
"Well I can ask mom if you can stay the night." she mumbles, "I mean, that is, if you want to."
"Sure, as long as it gets me away from Jordan," I say letting out an over due sigh.
The bell rings signaling that lunch is over and we get up and take our trays to the little window in the kitchen and hand them to the lady to be washed.
"Thank you," I say before turning around and following Kim out of the cafeteria.

The next three hours come and go in a rush and soon enough I am outside walking home. I only make it two blocks before I have to stop and wait for all of the busses to pass by so I can cross the road. One of them turns down the road I'm on and I notice Andrew looking at me and before I have time to look away he flips me the bird.
I roll my eyes and quickly make my way across the road and up the next block, walking through the neighbors yard and into mine. I walk up the short drive way and take a step onto the makeshift walk way right before Jordan swings his car into the drive just nearly missing me.
"Watch where you're going asshole," I say as he steps out of the car, followed by his four kids. I turn around and walk across the stones and into the house before he has time to reply which gives me a chance to make it to my room and pull the curtain across my doorway so everyone knows to leave me alone.
Throwing my stuff onto my bed, I quickly take a seat at my desk and boot up the computer. I try to concentrate on what is on the screen but the loud chattering in the living room distracts me and I quickly shut down the computer and walk out the door in my room which goes strait outside.
I pull my phone out of my pocket to find a text from Kimberly saying that I can come and stay the night. I quickly shoot a text to mom and ask her if I can stay over there before making my way back into my room and packing my bag.
I get a text back saying 'I guess'. Typical, I should have expected that. I pick up my bag and school stuff and head out the door without a second thought.

I walk up on the porch and don't even get the chance to knock before Kim pulls the door open and lets me in. I walk to her room and drop my stuff on the floor before sitting down on her bed and making myself at home.
"So what do you want to do?" I ask as she sits down and presses play on her DVD remote. My Immortal by Evanescence starts playing and I sit back and listen to if for a few seconds before realizing Kim is talking to me. "What?"
She rolls her eyes before speaking again, "I said that mom and Dean are going to be gone for a while so it is just you, me and Drew here right now. So I figured that you would want to stay in here for a while."
"Yeah, sure." I say thinking about what happened last time her mom and Dean were gone.
"Do you want something to eat? I made Chicken Alfrado."
We get up and make our way to the kitchen to find Drew doing the dishes and dancing while music blasts in his ears. We stand there watching him for a minute and he starts to pretend to spank someone and we look at each other before bursting out in laughter, and startling Drew. He turns around and his cheeks are slightly pink and it seems as if words have failed him because he just glares at us before turning around and continuing to wash dishes.
Kim pushes open the small swinging door that divides the kitchen and the dining room and grabs two bowls and forks before spooning out some food into both bowls and making her way back to the dining room and handing me one. We sit at the table and eat our food not really making much conversation as we watch the piles of dishes disappear as Drew finishes them off.
