16 and a murderer

Chapter 5 :beyond the cabin

As I was walking through the woods all the bushes around me started shaking. I started to freak out . I started to run. but the thing followed me unseen. As I am running I tripped over a root coming out of the ground I fell. I looked at the bush next to my head. All of a sudden the bush started to shake. Next thing I know there's a dog. Licking my face.

I'm laughing hard. The dog is a big German Shepard. It has a blue eye and a brown eye. I look for a collar. None. No tags.no collar. Nothin. He is very malnourished and looks like he's all skin and bones. He's Very young and And dirty.

Hey boy! I say happy to see that I'm not alone anymore.
Are u hungry? Like he understood me he barked. I'll take that as a yes.

So with that I walked back towards the cabin, the dog right at my heels. As we approached the cabin and it came into view the dog ran straight to the door and was barking at it. When I got up there next to him I opened the door and he ran into the cabin and jumped right on my bed.

"At least some things are normal in my life". I smile at that thought it's nice to know I can have one living thing in my life.

I look at the dog he's way to skinny he probably would have only had a day left I go through the food I have and find some spam I bought as well. I put it on a plate and put it in front of the dog. He ate all of it in a matter of seconds I put the food where the dog can't get it and leave the cabin I walk down to the creek and put some water in a old bucket. I walk back start a fire in a pit I made and boil the water. I sit on the ground and watch the water boil. After a while the dog came and sat by me.

You know what, I think I'll keep ya. I said to him

But you'll need a name how bout Roscoe, that was the name of my old dog

After the water boiled for an 2 hours we went inside I poured some water into a bowl laid it on the floor for Roscoe and
I laid down he drank a little water and laid down next to me.

That night I had no nightmares, thanks to Roscoe.
