Hernandez, Officer – tough female police officer; brunette, helps to investigate the murder of Jade in Book 1. Comes after Pierce with a Taser in Book 2.
Mike – tattooed groundskeeper at IH Cemetery; possessed by Furies. His head is concussed by Pierce.
Michaels, Father – a priest Grandma wanted Pierce to meet at her mother’s welcome party.

Rector, Seth – IHHS senior class president, varsity quarterback, Spanish Club treasurer; white teeth, super smile, great biceps beneath his Polo shirts, seemingly flawlessly polite and seemingly respectful of others; a student leader; he and his friends refer to themselves as the Rector Wreckers; A-winger. Likes: his girlfriend Farah, his F 150 truck, Coffin Night. Dislikes: Alex Cabrero.

Reynolds, Patrick – Richard Smith’s life partner; about ten years younger than Richard, garrulous, a snappy dresser; knits; watches Law and Order, big fan of Pierce and John but not aware that the Underworld exists.
Rivera, Julian – Kayla’s drug-addicted older brother whom she once had to smash in the head with a fire extinguisher when he was beating her mother. He now lives in Wyoming.
Rivera, Kayla – best friend of Pierce Oliviera and Alex Cabrero; member of New Pathways program and a D-winger; in economics class with Pierce; has a giant aurora of dark curly hair with purple streaks; lips and eyebrows pierced; African American; is saving up for breast reduction surgery; has “impulse control” label after bashing her brother with a fire extinguisher. Likes include Frank, cosmetology, and fashion. Dislikes include A-wingers, particularly Farah Endicott.
Rodriguez, Officer – comes to investigate Jade’s murder
Santos, Chief of Police, aka Chief Santos – chief of police of Isla Huesos, has gray mustache and eyebrows, believes Pierce knows more than she’s saying about everything.
Smith, Richard – Isla Huesos cemetery sexton; older, elegantly dressed African American gentleman who often wears bow ties and straw porkpie hats; gold-rimmed reading glasses; he is the only living person on earth besides Pierce who both knows about the Underworld and has a relationship with John, and that’s because he’s an expert on death deities, an interest he shared with Pierce’s grandfather, Carlos Cabrero, but also because he once died (heart attack), and went to the Underworld, though he doesn’t remember it. He sympathizes with John and Pierce’s plight but is frustrated by their brashness.
