Lonely Cold

My paw sinks into the cold white snow,

the sun blinding me this early morn'.

The air smells of pine and life,

but all I feel is the lonely cold.

Chased away from my own pack,

I lay in wait for a new chance.

One mistake and I got my friend killed,

so I was shunned then I was banished.

Will I ever find a way back

to the traditions of the wolf pack?

Will I ever wake with a friend next to me,

waiting there to protect me?

Will I ever hunt in a pack?

Will I ever snatch a snack

and offer it to a mate?

Will I ever see my parents again,

with my younger sister happily bounding my way?

I guess this is what I deserve

for a mistake that killed a friend.

This is my good bye to life as a proud wolf in a pack.

My paw sinks into the cold white snow,

the sun blinding me this early morn'.

The air smells of pine and life,

but all I feel is this lonely cold.
