I stretch and yawn, rubbing my eyes as I awake from my sleep. The room is terrifyingly dark and all too familiar. I'm in Paul's basement.

"Finally you're awake boy." I hear his gruff voice. "Before I feed you, I brought some of my friends to teach you a lesson. Maybe if you're good I'll give you something to eat." Paul gives the okay and leaves the basement; heavy working boots stomping up the stairs and slamming the door shut. His friends are on me.

"We heard you're a faggot. That you like it up the ass. That's basically being a girl right? So we're gonna treat you just like all those other sluts." I'm crying before they've even started but I know what's coming. What did I do to deserve this?

My wrists are put in handcuffs (after I'm stripped and shivering) so that I can't struggle as much. I feel their hands on me. All over me. I shut my eyes as one of the guys starts to stroke me. I try desperately not to get hard, but to no avail.

"Please don't... Stop! Please!" My cries and please get louder with every stroke until I'm releasing all over the place. Another one of the guys uses my open mouth to his advantage and makes me suck him off.  He hits me several times when I accidentally bite him.

I'm propped up on my elbows and knees and mercilessly penetrated. I scream and everything goes black.

The sound of Harley's shouts wakes him up. They wake up Roman too. He's in the boy's room before he can even get out of bed.

"Hey hey what's wrong? What happened? Are you hurt?" Roman's voice is raspy and concerned.

"It was j..just a bad dream." He stutters and wipes the few tears away. "I-I'm okay please just leave me alone." Harley's voice is still quivering and his body is shaking. Roman looks like he's going to protest but then just nods.

"I'll be in my room if you need me." Harley doesn't acknowledge him and he leaves. Shakily, he gets off of his bed and walks to the kitchen. Roman always has plenty of tea. After making himself a cup of earl grey, Harley sits on the couch and tries to take his mind off of the nightmare. He doesn't want to keep Roman up by watching tv, so instead he shuffles through the books on his end table. Harley settles on a classic. A Room with a View.

By the time Roman gets up, the boy is on the last page of the book. It wasn't a very long book, but Harley thought it was a relatively good read.

"Mornin'. How long have you been up?" Roman yawns.

"Um I haven't gone back to sleep since last night." It's not that big of a deal. Harley used to stay up all the time. He's not even tired. Roman looks at him sympathetically. "So what's for breakfast?" he fakes his cheerfulness when in reality all he wants to do is curl up in bed and never leave.

And thus starts the day; Roman and Harley talking and laughing, and soon enough his anxieties and depression are buried deep. Subconsciously Harley hopes they're buried deep enough so that they will never resurface again. But that's never how these things work out, is it?
