KALE

"Name?"

"Jewel Ford."

"No--I meant with middle name."

"Jewel Aphrodite Ford."

"Age."

"17 turning eighteen."

"Birthday."

"August 20."

"Favorite season?"

"Winter."

"Uh... Hobbies?"

"She likes writing poems that make people feel happy, likes studying History, and likes cooking."

"Name of mom and dad?"

"William Ford and Thalia Ford."

"All right," Sam jumped from the couch and stretched. "I think we're - - uh done here. You know the basic things about her. You can talk to her tomorrow." My eyes widened and I gaped at her as she yawned like what she said was nothing.

"What?"

"I said, you can talk to her already. You know how to keep conversations going, don't you?"

"Tomorrow? Are you kidding me?" I hissed. "Do you think I'm ready? It's only been three days! How the hell would I talk to her without making a fool out of myself?"

Talk to her! Oh hell no. That is not a good idea. I mean, even if i know things about her now, I still haven't planned how the conversation should go! I might touch a really sensitive topic or who knows if I bore her and she decides to just stay away from me.

"Dude, you're making such a big deal out of this," Sam rolled her eyes. "All you have to do is approach her, say hi, how are you etc, and keep the conversation going, while making sure she's comfortable with you. What's so hard about that?"

"But I don't know how I will do those without tripping on words!" I threw my hands up in frustration.

"Easy. Make acquaintances first, then put notes in her locker. It would be best if it's something romantic, or at least put everything you feel into words. " Samantha smiled.

Wow. That wasn't such a bad idea.

"Uh... Maybe I could do just that." I grinned at her. Not being able to control myself, I stood up and ruffled her hair. "Thanks a lot little sis!"

"What the hell, Kale!" She shoved my hand away with a pout. "I spent the whole morning styling my hair!"

I chuckled. "Style it again, then," I said with a grin, snickering when she scowled at me. I don't really know why but I like annoying people. Mom and dad admitted to have this kind of habit before too so I guess it runs in the family?

I teased her for a few more minutes, until my phone rang, that is, making me stop what I was doing and look at it, only to see a missed call from Hunter.

I was wondering if I should just ignore it, but then again, the guy never calls me for nothing. It's either there's an emergency or something really good happened.

"Oh, look, Hunter's in need of my presence, " I said with fake arrogance, standing up from the comfy couch. Aw. The thought just made me want to lie down all day. "Bye, Sam!" I messed with her hair as she was about to get done with it, sprinting out the room before she even gets a gun and shoots me with it.

I greeted my older brother on the way out, and he flashed me a smile and waved. Once out of anybody's earshot, I took my phone out and dialed Hunter back.
