JEWEL

"Oh my gosh, J, you are so lucky!" Emily all but squealed the day after Kale asked me out. Apparently, the persistent (and sometimes irritating) boy was famous. Well, I kind of realized that when he walked me to class and every girl was glaring at me.

"Ugh, Em, let go of me!" I pried her arms off of me when she jumped on my back. "You're acting like he proposed to me or something. It's just a date." I said, rolling my eyes and continued applying foundation on my face.

"Are you serious? This is something that calls for a celebration! Kale Jameson never and I mean never goes out on a date with anyone! I could only imagine the amount of girls who asked him out, or even tried to seduce him, but he always somehow gets rid of them or something. I swear, it's like magic how he's so reserved. It actually got to the point when someone spread a rumor that he's gay, but everything was proven wrong when a guy tried to kiss him in public, he pushed the guy away and said that he's straight in a polite manner but he beat the living hell out of him after learning that the guy was someone who cheated on Samantha." Emily would have continued her blabbering had I not interrupted her speech.

"Wait, who's Samantha?"

My other friend Claire raised an eyebrow at me. "Whoa, down girl, calm yourself. I can sense your jealousy from here. Just so you know, Samantha is Kale's younger sister. And like, the playgirl of the University." I set the foundation down on the my computer desk and looked at her curiously.

"So she's like, a... slut or something?"

"No, no, not like that!" Claire chuckled. "The girl is cool to hang out with, and she's hasn't even had her first time yet, don't believe the rumors in school. If it comes down to word 'slutty', Sam wouldn't even compare to Dianna."

"Oh, sorry." I chastised myself for judging the younger Jameson. "But wait, who's Dianna?"

"Seriously Jewel. You should pay more attention to your surroundings." Emily huffed, rolling her eyes. "But anyway, she's just the assuming bitch of the school. Nothing important." She added waving her hand dismissively.

"Hey! That's rude!" I told her, giving her a disapproving look.

"Says the one who broke the bad girl's wrist," Claire retorted, grinning at me playfully.

"In my defense, she did provoke me first. " I huffed..

Emily snorted. "That prick deserved it."

"Dude don't be a judgmental bi-- Oh my God, Jewel, is this what I think it is?"

"What?" I asked, confused.

"Look here!"

I turned around and was about to snap back at her, when I saw her holding a small black box.
"What about it?" Oops. I forgot to open it... It was from Kale. "He gave it to me, along with the flowers."

"Dude, is that a ring?" Emily squeaked as she rushed over to where Claire sat and I rolled my eyes at her antics.

I walked over to the two of them and took a closer look at it, shaking the box. It didn't make a sound. "I think it's a cube or something."

"You idiot. Em, why would Kale give jewel a cube?"

Emily raised her hands up in surrender with a sheepish grin on her face. "Sorry, blonde moments."

"Let's just open it, all right?" Rolling my eyes, I took the cover off and cuts of paper fell. What the?

When I looked down to see what it was, it was too late. The two already had them. I sighed. Ugh. They always liked to meddle with things. I still love them though.
