Chapter 1
5th Year
I woke with a start, cold sweat dripping down my head from the previous night's dream. Checking my watch I noticed it was only 4 am. Oh well, I thought, drowsily walking into the bathroom, at least I'll be the first one in the shower. Getting up I grabbed some clothes and walked into the bathroom. Closing my eyes against the hot water I let it soak into my skin. I thought about the previous night's dream. It had always been the same ever since I could remember, but I guess that was because it wasn't just a dream, it was a memory. It used to simply be screams but over time it developed.
My parents were playing with my one and a half-year-old self, making a toy rocket ship zoom through the air and through some stars my dad had created with a spell, my mum's face was distorted as I couldn't quite remember her. There was a knock at the door and my mum got up from where she was sitting down next to me to get it. My mother spoke into the darkness, "Hello? Who's th-", she never got to finish her sentence as there was a flash of green light, a thud of my mother falling to the floor and a crack of someone disapperating. My dad ran over to my mother's body, lying lifeless on the floor.
My dad had mourned for over 5 years at the loss, maybe even more. But he tried to act happy for me and Grant at least. I'd never known the true reason behind my mother's murder, wouldn't you-know-who of killed my Dad and I too?
I heard that You-know-who was more violent than just popping over to kill one person, I hear if he went to someone's house, he usually kills everyone with no mercy. Harry Potter and Dumbledore have been saying that you-know-who's back. I keep finding myself hoping that they're pulling a prank of some sort so I don't have to think about it.
The daily prophet has been saying that Dumbledore and Potter's around the bend. I'm not sure if I believed it or not. They seemed alright to me, well apart from the You-know-who thing. I guess that just really scared me.
I stayed in the shower for another half hour just washing my hair, before hopping out and drying myself on the towel laid out by the elves. I looked at my reflection for a bit. Even when my hair was wet you could still see the blond strips running through it. I put on some mascara and some light concealer to cover up the dark bags under my eyes and checked my watch sighing, I still had half an hour until breakfast.
The other girls had begun waking up now. Liling looked at me and exclaimed, "You're up already? Blimey Phelia, you really are an early bird. Thank goodness you don't wake me up when you do".
I smiled sadly and waited until she was ready so we could head down to breakfast, she didn't know about the dreams yet

Professor Flitwick wondered through the crowd, barely visible because of his tiny size, handing out the timetables. When he got to us, I grabbed both Liling's and mine, comparing them before giving it to her. "We've got every class together except care of magical creatures". Taking her timetable from me she slumped in her chair, "why did I choose to take muggle studies in 3rd year?" she groaned.
I began piling bacon onto my plate, "because you wanted to become friends with Leah again". We both glanced down the table to where Leah was sat, giggling amongst a crowd of people. She was best friends with us in 1st year, we told each other all our secrets and everything. But when 2nd year came, she started telling our secrets to other people, spreading rumours and embarrassing us for attention, and boy did she get it. She got a whole crowd of people being friends with her from our year, younger years and even some older years. Wanting to be cool and most likely because they didn't want her to spread rumours about them.
Liling tried to be friends with her again back in 3rd year so that Leah would stop embarrassing us but Leah basically just laughed in her face. I sometimes wonder why she wasn't placed in Slytherin, she sure did put Ravenclaw in a bad light those years. But when 4th year came she seemed to mature a little. Not being so loud about her opinions of people, but her group does still snigger sometimes as we walk by, but they only gossip between themselves now.
