Mom wasn't happy that I lied about going to the park with Leroy but soon got over it when she saw Cara hands. "How did this happen?" Mom ask as soon as she saw them.
"I was reaching for a tool and my feet were on a stool and I was tipping over and that's when I fell and my wrist got stuck." How could she lie! How could she protect him. Mom look at her and then ask "what about your neck" Cara touch her neck and before she could answer Mason step into the room. " awesome" he says pointing to her arm.
"Mason get out" mom says
"But he's in here"
"Fine the both of you get out" mom says pointing at me and him.

"How rough?" He ask when we got in the room.
"What?"
Mason rolled his eyes "How rough did you fuck her?" He said in a low whispers.
"I didn't"
"Awe come on, I saw her sleeping in her bra and underwear, you had to fuck her" damn! So he got see her body. I should've kick him off the bed. But me sleeping on a bed with Cara would've made it look too obvious. But I guess now she'll have to sleep I my bed, I'm not letting her go back to that place. That place the hurts her! I'll be damned. "Aye" Mason say waving his hand in front of my face "What?"
"Do you think Dad would let go of my groundtion"

"Awww" he slams himself on the bed"I learn my lesson"
"Did you now?"
"Yeah never go to the lot if your there"
"Whatever I'm gonna go get something to drink"
"Mhmmm sure you just wanna check on your fuck Buddy"
"LANGUAGE!" I yell at him.
"English, what's yours" he replies. I shake my head and walk out.
In the kitchen I see mom handing a cup of tea to Cara. She drinks some but then she cries a little as if the drink hurt her. "Alright.. Maybe we should start with apple sauce" right there the phone rang" be back just try to drink a little." As soon as she left I went in. Cara eyes light up at the sight of me. I didn't know what to say so I just kept staring at her neck"Stop looking at me like that's I'm strong" she says rolling her eyes. Strong.  She was always strong to me but strong people do break."Your not going back" I says sitting in the chair next to her.
"I know we made a deal"
"I just can't have you going back there"
"I don't see why I'm leaving in a few weeks anyway"
"Your not staying for summer"
"Cant you SEE that I can't stay!" Cara screams then she cries holding her neck. Mom comes in the room fast. "Didn't I tell you to stay in the room with your brother" she snaps at me. "I was just checking on her" I replied.
"Hey,hey" mom says to her pulling her into a hug " it's okay, its okay." Cara stop crying but mom didn't let go of the hug. Sometimes I think mom wanted girls instead of boys. I left the room and ran outside. Once I got to the park I stop. "Hey, boy" said  someone. I went into my pocket and touch my blade. I yank it out and twist around, but before I could stab a cold metal touch my face. A loader.
"Boy, if you don't put that blade down" said a familiar voice. I look up and see Roy. I put the blade and my pocket and Roy pull his loader back. "What the hell got into you?"
"Nothing, had a tough morning" I say under my breathe.
"I know, Teddy and Jo came to my place last night, you really fuck up Jo nose but I can see he did the same to your lip" Roy said pointing to my mouth.
"I went over to Cara earlier to see if she wanted to come with me to Dallerns but she wasn't there"
"She's at my house and gonna stay there" I snap at him.
"You got her pregnant,didn't you?"Roy said with a grin on his face.
"No!" I say a little to eagerly. "She just isn't safe at home"
"Alright, I just had to make sure. She like my little sister, I ought to protect her from you boys. Do you wanna go to Dallerns?"
"Sure"
Dallerns was the only mall here and only Wester's shop there cause it too expensive. But once in a while Hoods and Crossers go there and jack. I wanted to get Cara something to help with her neck and maybe get something for mom. While we walking I counted how much money I had. 31.67. No store there would have anything for this much.

Once we arrived; me and Roy, met up with the rest of the group, Randell, Teddy,Leroy, Dam, and Gilbert. "Okay, we already got a lot of attention from the pigs, so on the count of three we all run in separate directions. Grab one thing then run out the store and don't stop till we reach our side of the city. Got it" Roy said. We all nodded. "Okay... 1..2..3" have you ever seen the Olympic's? When all the racer are line up and the gun guy pulls the triggers and the runners take off so fast. That's how all of us were. I dip into a women's store. I his in a clothes rack just to he safe. I glance out and saw a pretty scarf. It was black covered in skulls. I grab it and saw cool cowboy hat. I knew Mason loved watching cowboys movies. I quickly grab it and went to the register. A older women was behind it and got scared when I show up. "Can I help you?" She kept looking down as if to see if I was caring a loader. "How much is this?" I say placing the hat on the counter. She seem surprised and then got into work mood. She scan it before saying "31.28"  I quickly shoved my money our my pocket and grab the hat. She seem so surprised before giving me my change and proof of payment. I quickly dip out the mall and into the parking lot. I saw Teddy about to get into his car son I run faster."teddy wait!" I yelled loud enough for him to hear me.
"All you got was a stupid hat?" Gilbert said when I got into the car. I pulled out the scarf as I buried the paper. " Oh, you got a stupid cowboy hat and a girly scarf"
"Its for my brother and mother" I say about to punch him.
"They wouldn't care if you got caught! Shoot they might even be glad if you were gone"
"Not everyone family is like yours Gilbert" Teddy said.
"Atleast he's thinking of other people instead if your selfish ass" Leroy said.

Teddy drop me off in front if the house. "Hey!" He yells as soon as I get to the steps. I run back to the car. "You forgot this" he hands my the paper. My eyes widen" Don't worry. I don't won't tell..just promise me that you'll be rainbow instead of the storm" even though I didn't know what he meant I promised. Once I got inside I saw mom in the kitchen and Mason on the couch" where's Cara?" I ask. Please don't tell me she went back! Please don't. "She's in the back room" mom says.
"Who's the hat for!" Says Mason. He jumps up and rush's towards me. I placed it on his head" For you" he jumps up and runs to tell mom. I quietly go to the back room. Cara in the bed. Her clothes are on the floor. She's naked. I turn around to exit. "Wait" I turn around and see Cara with the blankets covering her chest. "Yeah?" I wanted to leave so bad.. Or maybe I wanted to join her." I wanna go get my things"
"Um okay, when?"
She got up a little more" now"
I remember the scarf I got for her. "Here" I say handing it to her. She looked at it "For your neck" I say. She nods and gets up. I can see the little bit if her breast, I pray I didn't have an erection. " Do you mind, weirdo?" She asks riding her eyebrow. I nodded and head out. Going back to that house.. I needed something to protect us. Well not just us but her. I saw Roy across the street and I knew he had loader on him. I quickly ran up to him. "Hey wassup boy" Roy said as I approach him. "I need a loader" there was no emotion in my voice I sounded.. Hood. Roy eyes grew serious then spoke"why?"
"Somebody hurt Cara"  I said.
"So your gonna kill em, let me tell you something one bullet gets you 100 years"
"I'm not gonna kill anyone just if I need to..I can't tell you everything just know that I really need one"
Roy just nodded and pulled the loader out his back pocket. He handed it to me. I quickly pulled it inside my pants and pulled my shirt down. "Thank you" I say. He just shakes his head and nods "No problem"

We walk together. She holds my hand tighter with every step. The scarf looked nice on her. Cara opens the door to her house. I only been in here once and I was 7 then. It looked dirty. Bugs crawled on the floor and the wall paint was pilling off. It was am awful smell to. How could she even live here. Suddenly the door open "Well,Well,Well if it isn't the whore" the lady who I'm guessing is Cara mom.
"You fuck up my man real bad you little cunt"Cunt! Whore! Why is Cara just taking this. She moved past me and goes down the Hall "Where the hell do you think your going, don't forget your fuck buddy" her mom yells at her. I start walking her way "We're friends, and if you talk to her like that I'll-" A man appears he's taller than me and smell horrible "Or what" he says. I hear so fumbling around in the background. "Just don't" I say. He push me back and I fell on the floor. Cara come fast out the room and run towards him. He grabs her neck and throws her to the ground. I grab the loader and point it at him. His face changes."You wouldn't shoot me, you don't got the balls" he says. He steps closer and I clock the bullet into place. He stops. Cara pulled herself off the floor"Dont do it" she says.
"Why do you keep protecting him!" I yell at her. I pull the loads closer. I could kill him, make him pay for what he did yo her. Make him pay. "I'm not protecting him I'm protecting you" she says.
"Go get your things" I snap at her. The loader is right in his face. She dosent question it. She runs and grabs a backpack. I hold up the gun until were outside. "GIVE ME IT!"Cara screams when were outside. I hand it to her and she throws it into some woods.
"That was Roy's"
"I don't care, your not about that life"
"How do you know?"
Cara turns to me. "You paid for this?" She says pointing to her scarf.
"How do you know?"
"I saw the paper before u left, do you think I hood would do that"
"And why won't they?"
"Cause we all think the world owes us something"
"Don't you think it dose?"
"No" with that she walk to the house.
