The next morning I woke up with the longing for Luke to kiss me. Whatever happened last night--which I didn't know how I felt about--was including me and Luke. A lot of the time I didn't know how I felt about things but at the moment it was me and Luke. Did I actually want to be his girlfriend? To be his? To be the girl holding his hand in his prom pictures?
Yes. My head started to pound when I stood up, my vision getting the black cloudy effect. I used to get these as a kid when I was tired and woke up, but now it was weird to get them all of a sudden. I grabbed my phone off of my desk, of which I left when I went on dates with Luke. If he was the only one I wanted and loved to text, then why should I bring it?
More than anything, what I wanted now was to hang out with Elizabeth. Well, Beth. She had always been there for me and we both vowed each other to stay best friends forever since we were in the kindergarten. Beth had always had dark brown hair that went to her waist and bangs that covered her forehead. Beth was pretty; no one denied it. When she was little, boys were all over her by chasing her and playing games with her. When she was currently 17, like me, boys still loved her. But Beth had only ever dated one boy; Carson Eaker. But when Carson and Beth broke up, there was no one else she ever wanted. It was something I adored about her; she always and has always loved Carson. Only him.
My phone buzzed in my hand and I finally went back to reality. I read the screen and found myself smiling as soon as I saw Luke's name.
Luke
Hey, you coming today? Not feeling so good.
Luke
Is it because of last night? I'm sorry if I hurt you, Em.No, no, I'm okay.
Luke
Okay. See you tomorrow then?Yeah.
I thought about it and then thought of how I may see Luke. I wasn't feeling bad, exactly. Just embarrassed. It's hard to think that Luke and I... well. Yeah.

I walked into the classroom and sat down next to Beth. She looked at me. "Did you and Luke go on another date last night?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"He's told everyone that you and him are dating."
I blushed, kind-of. "Really?"
"Yeah," Beth smiled a little, "aren't you happy?"
"Yeah, I am," I told her as I looked across the room to see Luke with his friends. I smiled. "what's he been saying?"
Beth laughed. "Wow. Emily's actually starting to be interested in a guy." She grinned. "He's been saying that you and him are dating; that's all, really."
I nodded. "Oh, okay."
She stared at me. "Are you okay? You seem weird."
"Gee, thanks, bestie."
"Anytime." She grinned. "So? Where'd you and Romeo go out last night to?"
"Well," I smiled, "we just hung out by hay bales on his grandpa's farm land."
"Wow," she raised her eyebrows. "So much for 'romantic,' huh?"
I laughed. When I looked at Luke again, he was looking at me. He was looking at me.
"Ms.Rochester, do you need extra homework to keep you from daydreaming and talking?" Ms. Davis asked me sternly. I looked up at the board and instantly got my notebook.
"Sorry," I replied, beginning to write notes.

"Hey. I thought you weren't coming to school, Sicky." He smiled at me and I leaned back at my locker. He kissed my head. I smiled.
"I missed you." I told him as I blushed. He chuckled but smiled wholeheartedly as he kissed me softly on the lips.
"How are you feeling now? Better, or no?"
"Somewhat better," I told him as I opened my locker and grabbed my bag, "thanks."
Luke smiled. "I can give you a ride home, Em," he said. "It's starting to rain."
"Really?" I smiled. "You don't have to."
"I'd like to, yeah," he kissed my cheek and I blushed when he kissed my lips softly too. "I also wanted to see if you wanted to come over for dinner. My family would like to see you again."
"Okay," I nodded, kissing his cheek and grabbing my phone. "I'll call my mom and tell her."
"Okay," he nodded too. "I'll be in front of the school with the truck."
