"fuck" i mumbled as i looked at my clock. it read 7:59, which meant i only had 31 minutes to get ready and go to hell. but since i just moved to sydney from america, it would take a bit longer for my appearance since i didn't want to look like death.
i quickly got out of bed, ran to my closet and picked out my outfit. ripped black jeans, a band t-shirt, and my high top black on black converse. perfect.
thank god i took a shower last night so i didn't have to take one this morning and i could go straight into a bit of makeup.
some concealer here and there, filled in eyebrows, mascara, matte coral lipstick, and winged eyeliner.
i brushed my hair and teeth at the same time, i mean i do find myself waking up late rather often so i'm a pro. no time to straighten my hair, and it was already straight from last night when i got bored anyways. i grabbed a mini orange juice from the fridge, a granola bar, my backpack, and yelled "BYE LOVE YOU GUYS" to my parents who were upstairs.
fuck i forgot my phone and my earbuds. i proceeded to run back inside, grabbed them from the kitchen counter and ran back out to my car, checking the time. 8:17. not to bad if i do say so myself.
i got a bit nervous as i drove to school, i mean i am an american girl who moved all the way to sydney... no reason behind it, my parents didn't have to go because of their jobs, it's not a vacation, we just felt like going.. i didn't have much say in it, but it wasn't hard to say goodbye since i had about two people there who i actually liked and cared about.
i parked across the street and power walked towards the office. i looked around, seeing just average people walking to their first period classes and a couple people hugging or exchanging hellos. i walked up to the front desk and spoke,
"hi, i'm meghan wright, i just transferred her from america. i'm here for my new schedule, could you find it for me please?"
the office lady seemed like she couldn't be bothered with me, she slightly looked up, sighed, and looked at me like it isn't her job to help me.
"yeah sure whatever.. what's your name again?" she asked
"meghan wright" i responded with a smile.
i glanced around the office, not very exciting. just two kids sitting in chairs, one with an icepack on his wrist and the other on the side of his head, close to his ear. nothing else really, just a couple office workers and a plant.
"here's your schedule, your first class will be english, in room 208. if you get confused as to where it is i'm sure someone can help you in the hallway." she glanced up at me, and then when back to typing on her computer. i nodded and mumbled a
"thank you" before heading to english. i checked the time, fuck it's 8:33... great i'm already late on the first day.
thank god for the plaques on the doors with the subject grade and teacher's name, otherwise i would've never found this damn classroom.
"okay class i know it's the first day and we're all very excited but settle down." i walk in as he's talking, and look around for a seat but it seems that there aren't any. unless i want to sit next to a girl who is wearing one of the skimpiest outfits i've ever seen, a tight bra size crop top, dark blue ripped short shorts, and black high heel boots or... oh! i can sit next to a girl who looks rather shy, has lavender, wearing black leggings, brown combat boots, and a oversized gray sweater!
"what's your name miss?" the teacher, mr.jones it says on the board, says.
"meghan wright"
"well meghan there's a seat right next to britney, or one next to stephanie." he speaks, motioning towards the girl wearing nothing as britney and the shy girl as stephanie.
i walk over to stephanie and sit mext to her.
"hey stephanie, i'm meghan" i say, smiling and looking towards her. she looks down, obviously she doesn't do well with talking to new people.
"how are you?" i try to start conversation.
"i'm pretty good.." she says, almost whispering
"you know i don't bite right?" i chuckle, trying my hardest to make her feel comfortable around me.
"yeah.. i'm sorry, i'm not good at talking to new people." she frowns, still looking at the ground.
"it's fine, i completely understand. plus it's the first day, we should both pay attention a bit."
