I spent the whole of the following day practising with Jake's guitar. Or should I say my birthday gift?
Jake had suggested that I played my acoustic songs as normal tonight, so that I could bring out the electric towards the end of my performance to play a few solos.
I was increasingly nervous about this, but decided that if I want to make a name for myself then I needed to show my audience what I can do. With that positive thought in mind, my determination allowed me to practise two solos that I would perform that evening.
"Come and take a break now, Alice, you don't want to be too tired to perform do you?" Andy adds.
"You've been practising hard all day and it's your birthday!" Ashley comments throwing a hand on my shoulder.
"We've whipped up a little celebratory meal for you and Jake, come and see!" I don't know what to think as Andy grasps my arm and leads me away from the guitar.
We arrive at a restaurant where there is a private room organised for us. A large round wooden table is laid out for what looks like everyone, including the security guards, guitar, sound and lighting technicians. A singular two tier cake is positioned in centre candles waiting to be lit.
Wow. This is incredible.
"Let's eat!" CC yells as I sit at the table next to Jake.
Waiters come and fill the table with our double birthday banquet and everyone tucks in.
After the main meal, everyone sings Happy Birthday to me and Jake and we blow out the candles together on the count of three. I blush a little as Jake says that I should be the first to cut the cake since I am the guest to the tour group. My hand quivers as Jake places the glistening knife into it.
So this is what having a birthday with your favourite band feels like. I've never had a birthday on tour either! And there's more to come..!
***TIME PASS***
Later that evening, I find out the amazing work from all the various technicians and sound engineers as I step out onto the decently sized Seattle stage. Lights beam down on me from all directions and I feel the intense heat as well as the intimidating gaze of the watchful audience below me.
I enjoy playing through all my usual songs and I feel a sense of relief knowing that the audience must be enjoying it too as they clap and cheer.
A while later, Rick our guitar technician, comes onto the stage to swap my black acoustic with Jake's Schecter, previously plugged in before the start of the show to warm up the valve amps.
I have a feeling that some of the audience must recognise the guitar from the Black Mass tour as gasps arose when I took a hold of it from Rick's hands.
"I'm very grateful to Jake for letting me use this special guitar.. I hope you enjoy my new solos!" I shout into the mic before the sound technician kicks a beat in at the back.
I take a deep breath turn up the volume knob and begin to play through my first solo when suddenly I hear a loud explosion and feel my body being shoved aside. I came to realize that I had been shoved into the wings and the audience was screaming in horror. My vision becomes blurred because I had hit a metal pole during the toss.
"Alice?! Alice?!" I hear what I think is Andy's voice leaning over me. I try to move but my head is pounding, I can feel smoke filling up my lungs. Something falls. Everything goes black.

AN: Sorry for the shortness, but I wanted to make it more dramatic. Next chapter will be longer... So sorry but the next chapter is on hold for two weeks due to me dealing with life and it's complications. Hope you understand.
