My Sakura-Chan (Itachi x Sakura)

Fear of Rejection

'Itachi POV'
She's not saying anything, just there in shock with her mouth open while blushing madly. I close my eyes and think maybe I've really ruined things. I stand up and she grabs my hand and I stay put. "I-Itachi I-" "you don't have to answer now Sakura, think it through" I leave her room saying I'll see her tomorrow. When I'm out in the hallway I sigh letting everything out, I slump against the wall...why is this so hard!? I leave to go to Shisui's house.

'Sakura POV'
He just confessed to me...OH MY GOD. Itachi just confessed to me!!!!!!! I squeal and hug my pillow in pure happiness! My heart flutters just the thought of what happened minutes ago. But he didn't let me answer...was he thinking I would reject him? I would have confessed my feelings too. Well I guess I'll have to let him know tomorrow.

'Itachi POV'
"Itachi why are you glowing?" Sasuke interrupts my thinking. "Duh Sasuke, everyone knows whoever glows...is pregnant." Shisui tells Sasuke with a smirk. "Shut up you idiot." "Jeez don't get mad at me, I'm not the one who got your brother pregnant..." Sasuke face palms muttering curse words. "You are both idiots." I shake my head at them. "Well then Itachi, tell us all about your happiness." I sigh and look at them directly. "I confessed my feelings to the one I love." Sasuke chuckles and stops when he realizes I'm not playing. "You're kidding right?" Shisui on the other hand had eyes of admiration. "So what'd she say Itachi my man!!!?" "I haven't gotten an answer from her-no, more like I didn't let her... I was too afraid of rejection." "Who could reject you? You're Itachi Uchiha." Shisui says in a matter of fact tone.

"Well who is she?" As I'm about to answer my phone rings, checking the caller ID I see it's my father calling. I hold a finger up to Sasuke and walk out answering my father. "Hello father?" "What's up with this 'father' I'm your 'DAD'!" I chuckle at my dad. "Hello DAD." "That's much better! Now then, I was calling about your portfolio and things for the company... If your ready then I will take it and you can start working next week." "Yes it's ready dad I'll give it right to you when you get home." "Excellent son, now I have matters to tend to, oh and by the way I have your tux ready for the wedding...I'm sure Sakura will love it." My father hangs up with a teasing laugh. I have to ask Sakura to be my date for the wedding, well that's if it isn't awkward. I head back to Shisui's room and grab my things. "Hey what's up Ita?" "I have to go take care of things, see you at home Sasuke." "Yeah whatever." I exit and head home.

'Lee POV'
I'm walking down the street carrying about five grocery bags trying to head back home to Sakura, then I hear my name. "LEE!" I turn and see Sakura's friends in a group and Tenten with Neji walking along with them. "Oh hey guys!" "How is Sakura!?" Ino pressures. "She's fine! I just have to get home quickly to tend to her!" "I believe she can handle herself..." Shino says. "I know! I'm just worried see ya guys!" I walk off quickly.

'Tenten POV'
"Jeez if i didn't know any better, I'd say that Lee is in love with Sakura..." Kiba says to Shino. Ino then slaps Kiba upside the head. "You idiot! Lee is in love with Tenten!!!" "Uh oh yeah! I forgot you two were going out! I'm so sorry!!!" Kiba bows at me continuously. "I-It's alright really" After that we continue on our route home. Its true I've been feeling lonely because Lee has been tending to Sakura but that's not her or Lee's fault but I do feel a bit jealous. I shake my thoughts away, no, no, there is no way Sakura and Lee would ever do that to me. "You okay Tenten?" I nod my head at Neji and continue walking.

~~~THE NEXT DAY~~~~'

'Sakura POV'

"So Auntie, the duck or the old one?" "He's not that old Hana-chan and I told you already that I like Itachi" "Okay, now can we watch tv?" "Sure Hana go ahead to the living room I'll go down in a bit." She nods eagerly and runs downstairs. A few seconds later I heard a squeal, I shake my head she must have put on one of the dramas  she loves. Then I hear a knock on my door. "Um come in?" Itachi enters with one of his hands behind his back. "I-Itachi-senpai!" "Hello Sakura" he smiles but it looks a little forced. Before I knew it I was hugging Itachi tightly around the waist. "Please tell me you didn't change your mind senpai." "S-Sakura, what do you mean?" "About your feelings for me...say it wasn't a lie because...I really like you Itachi." I look up and see relief on his face and he relaxes and hugs me with his free hand. "I could never lie to you Sakura." He gives me a gentle smile and reveals a single rose he had hidden behind his back. I blush and take it from him. "T-thanks senpai." "Please call me Itachi, you're still my Sakura-chan, my cherry princess." I giggle and we just smile at each other for a minute. Then we turn to the sound of another squeal. "H-Hana!! Umm we were ju-" "Are you going to be my auntie's boyfriend now?" Hana says with sparkles in her eyes. Itachi chuckles and turns towards me "I don't know...would this cherry do me the honor of being my girlfriend?" I hug Itachi tighter and nod "Yes."
