Hailey's pov
Derek looked at me for about two seconds before he sauntered over to me with a small smile on his delicious lips.
"Hi there,I'm Derek Monett(A/n pronounced mow-neey) and I'm new here.Wait of course you would know that."He said sheepishly. "Hi, I'm Hailey Taylor and I'm your new seat partner!" I said really happy,he was cute after all.
He chuckled and took his seat."u-um can you show me around school?," he asked with a blush before he quickly added "I don't want to get lost"
"Of course, I would love to"I said happily. Why am I so happy all of a sudden? Derek sitting next to me calms me for some reason. The only person that could only do this was mom before she died. I blinked back the tears because of just thinking about her.
"Hailey?Did you hear what I said?Are you okay?" Derek said panickly. "Huh?Oh yeah I'm fine I just remembered something." I said trying to comfort him.
The bell ran announcing that class ended and I don't get how we didn't get in trouble for talking for almost an hour and DURING class.
I was gathering my stuff when I asked " Hey Derek can I see your schedule so I can see what classes you're gonna have?" He didn't respond and I turned to look at him and saw that he was zoning out with a thoughtful look on his face.
I poked him on the cheek once and he still didn't respond so I kept poking him on the cheek until he turned to face me and my finger poked his nose.
"GASP! Hailey..what was that for?I am not a clown!Don't go poking my nose, it won't squeak at all" He said while playfully glaring at me..or was it real? I decided to let it go, why would he glare at me he barely knows me.
"Derek,I asked if I can see your schedule so I can see what classes you have.But you wouldn't reply so I poked your cheek." I said with a smile innocent smile :).
"Oh..yeah sorry here you go." He said giving me his schedule.I looked at his name and was shocked to see Derek Taylor instead of Derek Monett.
"Derek?" I asked looking at him."Hmmm?" He replied."..Why does your name in the schedule say Derek Taylor instead of Derek Monett?" So many emotions ran through his eyes but the only emotions I could decipher was guilt,shock,sadness,anger..and hatred?
"Um .. because my parents made a mistake,they were suppose to put Monett instead of my middle name.And when my mom tried to tell the principal if they can change it they said they can't so my mom asked if my teachers can just introduce me as Derek Monett."He said smiling at me.
"Oh okay.." I said unconvinced. We were walking to 2nd period when I actually looked at his schedule.
"You have all classes with me Derek" I said happily.

"Mom are you sure this is okay?" I asked my adoptive mom.. That's right I'm adopted got a problem?
I heard her sigh and say "Yes Derek,I'm sure. You have to know about your real mom and dad and also your sister." Uhg,I hate my sister.. it was her fault that I got adopted, I bet she's a slutty bitch who thinks she is a fuckin only child. Well watch out whore I'm gonna make your life a living hell.
''Okay mom,Bye." I pressed the end button and went to put my phone in my pocket.
