Bringing back the dead is a crime! It's against nature. Funny that I think that, because what we are, is against nature. But no one brought us back from the dead, our Makers just made it so we would be able to live longer.

"Sorry Erik, but Evy doesn't want to see anyone." A nurse says on the other side of the door, most likely standing in front of the door.

"It's fine, let him in." I say rubbing my eyes sitting up against my pillows in my room.

The door opens and Erik walks in, turning on the lamp side table. Light has been bothering my eyes more then normal, so I have to move to the other side of my bed against the wall. It could be, that I can't drink souls without throwing up. I'm starving, but I can't bring myself to sign those papers that rest on the table. If I do, who knows what will happen? "You look sick," he says touching my forehead.

"I can't eat, every time I do, I throw it up." I tell him.

"Still?" Shaking my head to his question, his eyes slid to the stack of papers, were he picks them up and skims over the papers. He frowns at the papers and slams the stack down on the table. "Why is she wanting to turn you into the head of this branch of Immortals?! I am the leader!" He yells out, getting off the bed with so much anger my bed bounces.

"She thinks that things need to change. If I don't sign it, I'll starve to death and die. I don't want to run this place." I tell him truthfully.

"Can't you talk to her?" He asks with a frown.

"I've tried, but she won't do anything because of what she has done. If I sign the papers, there is a slim chance that I'll be able to fix what she has done wrong. But if it doesn't work, they won't go back to resting forever." I tell him.

"Who are you talking about?" He asks frowning deeper.

Looking away from him, I look to the window. "I had a family before becoming an Immortal. They were getting sick, so I made a deal with Corral to save their lives'. She saved them, but only if I gave up my human life." Looking back at him, he reaches out for my hand, but doesn't touch it. "But you knew that."

He shakes his head. "Yes, you've told me that before. But you never told me why she picked you."

"I have no idea," shaking my head, my eyes start to get heavy. "I'm getting tired." I tell him.

"I'll let you rest," he takes my hand this time and squeezes it, as I drift off to sleep.

-Dream-

I remember the sickness of my hometown, before it became what it is today. I remember my parent's leaving us. I remember the screams of pain. I remember how the sickness took different forms in the people.

"Evy, go check on grandmama and papa," mom tells me, as I put a washcloth on her forehead.

"What about you and dad?" I ask her.

"We'll be fine, you'll only be gone for a few minutes." Dad tells me.

Shaking my head, I get up to leave. "Take Emma with you, I don't want her to take care of us when you are gone." Mom tells me.

I do as my mom tells me and take Emma with me, to go check on our grandparents. "There is less and less people by the day," she tells me, as she hugs close my body, with my hand on her shoulder. She looks up at me, as we pass the graveyard that was growing larger and larger. "Evy, when will the sickness stop?"

"I don't know," looking down at her, I give her a small smile and squeeze her shoulder. "But try and not to think about it too much. The sickness will end soon and all will be well again."

"How can you be so sure?"

Shrugging my shoulders, we stop in front of our grandparents house. "Just hope and think happy thoughts." Kissing her on the head, I open the door. "Sit by the front door and cover your mouth. Grandmama and papa are very sick, they are sicker then mom and dad." I tell her.

"Okay," she tells me, as we pull up our wraps to cover our mouth and nose.

Walking into the back room, I call out to them. "Grandmama, papa I'm here to check on you!" I yell out, as I open the bedroom door.

But I find no living grandparents. They were both gone, holding hands. The sickness attacks the elder people faster then anyone else. I've checked up on them and helped them every day since the sickness set in. But it got them in the end. Their skin is a deep green, with spots over their bodies. The sickness would attack the inside of the body, as well as the outside. It killed everyone at different rates.

Covering their faces, I send a small prayer and walk out of their room. Closing the door tight. "How are they?" Emma asks with big eyes.

Shaking my head, tears fills her eyes and soon start to slid free. I fight back my own tears, but one does spill out before I can stop it. "Come on, let's go tell mom and dad. You will have to check on them, a couple times before I get back to the house." I tell her, as we leave the house.

"Where are you going?" She asks me.

"To call for the grave man."

-End of Dream-

Waking from the dream, I feel a small hand on my arm. Looking to who is touching me, the small lamp light is on again and before me is my little sister Emma. That young little girl, who watched our parents die alongside me and soon got sick as well. But when I made the deal with Corral, she and the others were all better. I've asked myself over and over again, if it had been Corral that made everyone sick. If maybe she payed off a Witch to make everyone sick. But I don't know the truth.

"You look so sickly big sister," she tells me in a soft voice.

"Are you here to take me to the other side or are you going to tell me that I have to sign that paper to end all of this?" I whisper to her.

She smiles, sitting down next to me on the bed. "I don't want to see you die Evy. But everything has been your choice and always will be. I'm just here to spend time with you, for a few minutes."

"Where are the others?" I ask her, thinking of all my friends that I watched grow old and have happy lives.

"Soon you will see them. But the outcome will be different for everyone. A couple aren't happy with you right now." She touches the side of my face. "Sleep as much as you can, if you don't sign the paper, you will need all the rest you can get. It's all just starting and once it starts, there is no stopping it till someone makes future events end."
