3rd person POV (*sings* for the first time in forever)
Months past and Winter and Sky became close friends. Everyday they would leave every care behind and spend the whole day doing whatever. They became very, very close as time went on. But, would they be ready for what came next...?

Sky and Winter went to their special hang out spot and sat on the grass. Tonight was gonna be an eclipse and they wanted to see it. "The eclipse should start soon." Winter said with excitement. "Then we'll probably want something to snack on during it." Sky said. "Snacks?" Winter asked. "Weren't you wondering why I brought this bag?" Sky asked. "Kinda..." Winter answered. Sky opened the bag and took out 2 apples and 2 bottles of water. "I thought we would probably want a snack." Sky said with a smile. He handed Winter an apple and a water bottle. She took them and thanked him with a twitch of her ears. Winter looked up into the sky and gasped. "It's starting!" She said and swished her tail back and forth in the grass. Sky chuckled a little at this before looking up at the sky. The moon was slowly being covered by a big, black sphere, making it slowly turn darker out. Soon the sky seemed to be nothing but darkness. "It's amazing, isn't it?" Winter asked. "Yea, it is." Sky answered. The 2 ate the apples that Sky brought and sipped away at the cold water, talking and laughing. Everything was going perfectly. "Hey, Sky?" Winter asked. "What is it?" Sky asked with a bit of concern. "What am I to you?" Winter asked shyly. "What do you mean?" Sky was confused. "Well, am I a friend, a teammate,....a rare creature that you keep around as your good luck charm...?" Winter's eyes showed sadness. "Well, I kinda think of you as--woah!" Sky was interrupted by something large and furry barreling into him.
Winter's POV
"Well, I kinda think of you as--woah!" Sky was suddenly charged into by something large and furry. After a few seconds I knew what it was. The Fire Cat. It's large, charcoal black paws held Sky to the ground while it's tail of fire swished furiously back and forth. It's scarlet red eyes were the only thing I could see clearly on it's face. "Sky!" I gasped, "You stay away from him!" I sent ice daggers flying towards the beast, hoping that it would do something. The cold blades jammed into the cat, making it yowl in pain. It swished it's long tail and hit me with it. I fell to the ground from the force of the attack. I was burning all over, but I didn't care. I wasn't going to let this beast take away someone else I cared for, not again. "Hey! Why don't you leave him alone you piece of coal!" I yelled. I turned into my wolf form and growled with rage. My clear wolf body shimmered in what moonlight that was slowly coming back from the eclipse. I spread my wings and darted into the Fire Cat, knocking it off of Sky. Me and the cat skidded across the ground before coming to a quick stop. "I said. Leave. Him. Alone!" I slowly stood to my paws and the Fire Cat did the same. It unsheathed it's claws and swished it's tail left and right quickly like a fire whip. 'This kitty needs to pay for what it did to my people. My family!' I thought as I let out an angry snarl. Soon, the cat and I were battling back and forth. I sent out snow-wolves (or, wolves made of snow) to help me attack the beast. The "snow clones" bit into the Fire Cat with fangs of ice while that I sent out ice daggers to hit the beast. Second by second, the Fire Cat would whip it's tail around and destroy all the snow wolves one by one. 'I need to figure out a way to put out it's tail. Then, I'll be able to win.' I thought. I tried to think up a plan when it came to me. "I got it!" I said to myself. 'I'll put enough snow on the cat's tail that it'll melt and turn into water. Then, the tail will be put out and the cat will be history!' I narrowed my eyebrows in determination. I howled a loud, powerful howl and just like that, snow began to quickly cover the tail of fire. As the snow melted, the cat's fire slowly burned out from the water. The cat yowled in pain as it's tail began to burn out. Soon, the tail's fire was put out and the black beast fell lifeless. I changed back into my normal form, panting form exhaustion. I had used a lot of my ice powers making them wolves and all that snow, so I was just about all tired out. I then remembered how that Sky hadn't been heard from the whole battle. Surely he would've came in to help, right? "Oh no... Sky!" I gasped and turned to where he was pinned down earlier. I ran over and saw him laying on the ground. A large, deep scratch mark that looked like it came from the Fire Cat traveled from his chest to his left side. "Sky!" I nearly yelled. But it looked like I was too late. Not a single sign of life was left in him. "No...nonono! Please don't do this to me!" I yelled in pain. Tears rapidly fell down my pale cheeks. I sat on my knees and cried into the palms of my hands for a couple minutes before wiping the tears away and again looking at Sky. "I w-wish I didn't have to d-do this, bu-but it's the only way..." I turned into my wolf form and bared my large, snow white fangs.
