Lily awoke to bright sunlight shining through the hangings of her four-poster bed. She groaned and sat up to see all the other girls already up, except Roxanne. Panicing, she reached for the clock on her bedside table- it would just be typical to be late on her first day of school- but it was only 7 am. She was bewildered for a moment, the gears in her sleepy brain sluggish, but then she realised what was acctually happening. All the girls were putting on make-up and doing their hair infront of the mirror. Well, that explains why Roxanne was still asleep. She may not be a full on tom boy, but she is a Weasley! Lily heaved herself off the mattress, threw on her uniform (which looked pretty cute for a uniform) and pulled her hair back into a high ponytail. She trudged down the stairs, yawning, her feet heavy. When she got into the commen room, she was delighted to see Hugo in the old beanbag by the fire.

"Morning!" he called, looking like christmas had come early.

"M-m-morning." she yawned.

"I can't believe it! We're gonna have our first magi lesson! With wands, I mean, cause Uncle Harry and Dad have taught us wandless magi but still!" He was babbling. That was what he did when he was excited, or nervous, or both!

Lily laughed and they headed down to the great hall. Luckly, Hugo had inherited Hermione's photographic-like memory so they didn't get lost. It would take a little longer for Lily, even though she was a fairly smart studejnt. Though they saw it just last night, the Great Hall still made Lily and Hugo gasp. The four house tables had been layed out wih dishes overflowing with any type of breakfast you could ask for! As Lily sat down at the Gryffindor table, she saw cereals of all kinds, toast with different breads and plated of spreads, Poptarts of any flavour, french toast, fruit salad and, again, mint humbugs. Lily felt a hand on her shoulder and turned to see James, smiling at her.

"Hey, little sis! Sleep well? Or did the ghosts keep you up all night?"

Lily rolled her eyes at her brother, and, as she did, she noticed lots of teachers chatting and glancing towards her. Okay, this was getting on her nerves.

"Lily?" she realised too late that James had been speaking to her whilst she fumed.

"Huh?"

"I said, what do you have first?"

"Oh, umm...one minute...aha!" she cried out triumphantly as she pulled out her timetable with a flourish. "Neville handed them out just last night." she said as she handed it over.

"Charm, History if Magic-ha! You have double potions with the Slytherins!

Nearby, someone groaned. Hugo nudged Lily, then jerked his head towards a figure with his blonde head hidden in his arms. Scorpius. Lily was bewildered until she remembered the letter! Mr Malfoy had said that he was disappointed that Scorpius wasn't in Slytherin, but that meant this Christopher and Beatrice must be.

Hugo and Lily made their way to Potions after a weird start to the day. Every teacher that called out her name on the register stuttered a little, gave her a glance, then hurriedly carried on. And more stares than ever! Hugo noticed and also mentioned that he sometimes got strange stares, though not nearly as many. The dungeons that held the Potions classroom was cold and creepy (mabe because all the weird things kept in bottles) and all the conversations were hushed. There was no teacher yet, but Lily did catch two people staring at her and Hugo. Only they weren't staring. They were full on glaring! And beside this blonde headed pair was none other than the black-haired duo from the train! Oohhh! That was why Scorpius had acted so weirdly on the train, thought Lily once she realised that the identical blondes were actually Christopher and Beatrice. Hugo steered Lily towards the emptiest table. The table containing Scorpius. Roxanne was with two other girls and a guy (gay but that's fine!) at the back. The door was suddenly thrown open to

reveal who Lily presumed was Professor Blakewood. He had dirty blonde hair gelled back on his head, contrasting horribley with his dark green/gray robes. He strode straight to the raised podium in the corner, facing the class. Professor Blakewood waved his wand and a golden cauldren appeared infront of him.

"Today, we will be testing your knowledge in the art of potion making. I don't expect you to become nearly as good as moi," Lily and Hugo exchanged glances, eybrows raised. "But I will teah those who aren't complete idiots that think they can mess around, because I will not stand for it."

Professor Blakewood had a voice that resembled sugar coated oysters! Horribly sweet and slimy! He waited for the speech to sink in then raised his wand once more and pointed to the blackboard infront of the class. Murmering instuctions, words began to appear on the board.

"You have 1 hour, 55 minutes. Begin."

With that, everyone started scrambling to the cupboard that holds the ingredients needes. Lily and Hugo smiled happily when they remembered the day they went to Diagon Alley.

FLASHBACK TO DIAGON ALLEY

They had decided to go as a family, so James, Albus and Rose were with them getting their supplies. They had just left Potagges Cauldren Shop, and were on their way to get potion ingredients, when Harry had pulled aside Lily and Hugo.

"I know it doesn't say anything about potions stuff, but we all remember our first year at Hogwarts, and, trust me, you will be greatful you have them. Come on, I'll help you choosd what you will need.

FLASHBACK ENDED

After about five minute, Lily realised that she was no good at potions, and was glad Hugo was there to help, as he was a whizz with anything that requires brains! After the time was over, they had to pour some of their potion into a flask and hand it in. Hugo's was the midnight blue colour described in the instructions, but in the small time Hugo left Lily to finish her potion, it had turned a nasty browny green colour. They handed them in to the front of the class, with Professor Blakewood leering unpleasantly at them. Lily and Hugowere greatful again that their parents thought ahead and taught them wandless magic, one thing that she was acctually good at! They tidied up their ingredients and waved their hands over their cauldrens to empty them, and were finished long before anyone else. When the bell rang for lunch, they all piled out, eagar to be away from Professor Blakewood. The Great Hall was filled with student and the few left over owls coming in, though not nearly as many as that morning. Lily was suprised when Ollie landed infront of her, a package clamped in her beak, with a letter attached to it. Hugo grabbed the parcel while Lily read the letter.

To Lily,

DO NOT OPEN THIS IN THE GREAT HALL!

I've decided that you are more responsible than either of your brothers, so now it is time to pass this down to you, after it was passed down to me by my father. Again, I say DO NOT OPEN THIS IN THE GREAT HALL. I don't want your brothers knowing about this, especially James. You can show Hugo and Rosie, but on your own terms.

Love you,

Harry Potter.

Lily looked at the package in Hugo's hands, and wondered what it could be.

"It's not heavy, despite the size." said Hugo, noticing Lily's curious gaze.

"Common room. Tonight. Then we'll see what's in this."
