"Margo!" I bolted up when I heard the scream that came from my sister, Alexis, she has always woke me up for school. Mostly because I'm on the internet all night and can't wake up myself.
I rub the sleep away from my eyes then glance at my clock, eight' o ' clock, school starts in twenty minuets and that means Alexis is leaving in five. Oh shit. I jump out of my warm bed and shiver a little when the cold winter air that has made it's way into my room hits my skin. I quickly put on a black sweatshirt and some skinny jeans and went downstairs.
I pack my backpack, pull on some beat up sneakers and run out the door. As soon as run out into the driveway I see Alexis' car go down the road. I groan and start walking on the sidewalk in front of my house. I put in my earphones to block out the busy morning traffic jam filled with angered drivers. I wish I would have grabbed a jacket or something to block out the cold when I ran out.
I put my hood up and my hands in my sleeves. Thank god the school wasn't far away. I start to feel my ears stinging when I arrive in the driveway of the high school. I glance over at a large group of seniors surrounded by someone's car. Who's car, Alexis', and who's in the middle of that group, Alexis.
I look closer at my sister and it seems she has already thrown herself at her boyfriend. We make eye contact and I give her a annoyed look and rollmy eyes. I walk in to the school tired and annoyed. The next thing to piss me off is the local group of sluts. They stop giggling when they see me. I stop dead in my tracks and turn to them.
Jane, the head of the sluts, looks at me "Hey, Margo. Did you do your own makeup today? You went a little to heavy on the blush, hun." She said.
I scoffed at her comment. My face was probably still red from the cold. I continued to my locker and started grabbing notebooks.
"Fucking bitch." I said under my breath.
"Who's a bitch?" Asked my best friend, Grace.
"The Queen." I replied
"Again." She sighed and handed me a cup of coffee. We walked together to our fist period classroom. High school classrooms were probably the saddest rooms I've ever seen. Brick walls painted gray with no childish encouragement posters on the wall, it was basically a concrete box , and I had the pleasure of being in this hell hole for eight hours. Me and Grace sat down in our seats when the bell rang.
My seat was in the back, it always was, and that's where I liked it. Where no one can see me or acknowledge my existence. I hated school or more like I hated people. I never talk usually. I'm quiet when I want to be and loud when I need to be.
My teacher, Mr.Carter, walked in to the class room five minuets late, topical, he probably was drunk last night and was hungover today.
"Alright class uh." He said while rubbing his head.
"This period is going to be a free period. Just no talking please and stay in your seats." He walked slowly to his desk and sat down. The class instantly went into a frenzy. That was my signal it was ok to put in my headphones. It wasn't long until I heard someone scream my name
"Margo!" Mr.Carter shouted.
"Sorry what?" I replied. Here was a new face standing next to him. I was so confused.
"I asked if you would show our new student around the school." The new boy walked down the isle and sat into the seat next to me.
"Hey." He said and stuck out his hand with a goofy grin on his face.
"I'm Jack Barakat."
