Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth. | Hermann Hesse

I had woken up human. I must have shifted in my sleep. A few feet away I spotted the rotting carcass of the deer, it's eyes stuck open looking forever onwards to the days that would never come. I stood, looking around. I had gone quite a bit away from the lake. I tilted my head, scenting the air.

I suddenly realised where I was. I took a few steps back. I had found myself near the pack house that housed the 24 werewolves who were to take part in the trials of the Omnis. I was too close. I needed to leave. The witches we had worked alongside with had put a barrier spell that would alert the pack when someone trespassed.

I turned as I shifted, not before checking the area for any signs of threats as my bones broke again and again as they worked to give me a new form. After I had fully shifted I let out a loud howl as my wolf let its gratitude show as I bounded off.

"You just shifted Kalona. I don't even remember half the stuff you do when you're completely in control." I contacted my wolf quickly sending him a quick message before bringing my wall up before he could form a reply.

I hadn't realised that I had been following right after the sweet smell of the honey and rain that called to me. I stopped to listen to my whereabouts. I could hear the quiet rushing of the stream leading to the lake. I was going along the right trial. The area near the lake had been closed off to all pack members who were not to be the Omnis apart from the Alpha and Beta.

I had made my way back to the lake when I caught the scent of the sickly sweet scent of honey. I could almost taste it. The smell of rain washing me clean making me feel whole and powerful. Was there a new source for me to draw energy from? I stepped closer and closer as I stared out across the rolling dark depths as I looked for a source. The lakes surface rippled as an unseen commotion happened under the water. Nothing interesting. As I had turned and began to search the trees and I heard the most delicate gasp. I stopped in my path and I looked behind finding the source of the sound immediately.

A girl, a woman emerged. She went to move her wet black hair away from her face and wipe the water from her eyes. Her eyes flashed open and I would've groaned if I had not been in my wolf form. Her wolf called for mine but she was not alone for mine did too. Her eyes were the colour of a deep yet bright Amber. I could imagine those eyes staring up at me as I pounded in and out of her. My eyes travelled down, her body dipped and curved in all the right places. Her breasts stood proud like the mountains that men had failed to climb. I would succeed. Her dark silky hair ran along her smooth wet skin, down to the top of her hips. I growled in frustration as my eyes stopped there. I searched to see if I could see through the water but to no avail. Her hands travelled down her soaking body, moving her hair to one inside wringing it. My thoughts went back to her. I would mount her and claim her as mine Her beauty was intoxicating. Her scent...exhilarating.

I wanted her. Needed her. She was mine. Suddenly I felt something inside me change. Awaken. Parts of my mind came to life that I had kept buried down and deep. I wanted to drink from her. I wanted to use her all up. Push her to her limits. Make her scream for more. I wanted to give her more. Was this lust or more?

My wolf and I battled over who would be in control but I had lost, my wolf overpowering me. Her head snapped straight towards me as my wolf had let out a low growl. I knew our eyes would not leave her body. I knew exactly what she would see. He would be daring her to try and escape. They would bore into her until she would give in. Give into the pure black eyes. The longer she looked, the more she would sink into the darkness of my being. Into the colour of lust.
