Prologue: Sleeping Memory

I hear the tree's soft whisper against the wind. It was like a lullaby, soothing and warm. It was so welcoming and calm. The feeling of security was all around when, abruptly, everything changed. The soothing lullaby was gone, they were replaced with the snapping sound of twigs being crushed around me.

I could feel eyes on me. I tried to open my eyes and I squinted as the sun's ray reached it. The sun was high up in the sky, light filtering through the top branches. There were trees everywhere. As I looked around, I smell the composting leaves and the earthy smell of beginnings and endings.

I got caught up by how beautiful the forest was that I almost didn't realize how dangerous the situation I was in. I don't have any idea where on earth I am and why I'm in the middle of the forest, alone.

"Hello? Can anyone hear me?" I called out to the forest.

Who knows? Maybe I was with someone and maybe, just maybe, that person might still be in the forest.

I waited for an answer but nothing came. That was when I began to panic. The only thing I know about myself is my name and my age. I'm not even sure if it's really my name or if it's really my age. I only found it in a piece of paper inside the bag that was lying next to me. Anything besides that is blank.. nada.

What happened to me? What if I was kidnapped? Is my family looking for me? Do I even have a family? Where am I? How did I even get here? I forced myself to remember.

A lot of questions in my mind remained unanswered as I  felt the throbbing at the back of my head increase. Unaware of what was happening, everything around me began to get hazy and without knowing it, I passed out.. again.
