Alright, this is For @aramella's Birthday, because I am a horrible friend and am late. But I wrote this without her permission or knowledge, and it's adorable, and I want to scream. So moving on:

So,” Elyse practically purred through the line, “what are you wearing?” Ara’s mouth hung open a little in confusion and surprise, as she held the phone away from her face giving it a questioning look,

Excuse me?” She choked out after a moment of awkward silence.

“Oh my word, Ara! Not like that.” Elyse scoffed over the phone. There were a few incoherent grumbles.

“I was just worried because it sounded like you were trying to come on to me Elyse. Excuse me for a being a little confused. I mean,” Ara’s voice took on a teasing nature as she picked small fuzz balls off of her oversized nightshirt, “how would that make Zay-

“Don’t you dare!” Elyse cut her off with a loud shout. “What I meant to ask, was ‘what are you wearing out with Niall tonight?’” Ara’s face molded once more into a confused expression as she fiddled with the cuffs of her long sleeves,

“What do you mean ‘out with Niall?’ I’m not going anywhere tonight. I’m already in my jammies.” It was Elyse’s turn to be silent, causing Ara’s stomach to sink. “Hello?”

“...Uh-oh.” at hearing that come out of Elyse’s mouth, Ara’s stomach was now rooming with the man three floors down from her apartment.

“Elyse,” Ara’s voice was tight, “what, did you do.”

“Well, you see,” Elyse let out a guilty chuckle on her line of the phone, “I may have kind of gotten this text message today...” there was a pause. “from Niall...” Pause. “wondering if you, Zayn and myself wanted to go out with him to this fair thing, and...” with every break in her explanation, the pauses got longer, and Ara’s breath got shorter.

“Well, I might have told him about how Zayn and I had other plans already, but you on the other hand...”

“Elyse, you didn’t.” She was now sitting straight up, her head shaking back and forth, hoping that the more she denied it, the less true it would be.

“Oops?” The little voice she used to utter that word just made Ara let out a noise of distress. “I thought I had forwarded the messages to you!” Elyse’s voice was desperate now.

“Elyse! I’m in my nightshirt! I, I-I can’t go out like this!” Ara was now pacing in front of her couch, her arm waving around as she sputtered into the phone.

“It’s just a fair Ara!” At another sound of distress from Ara Elyse continued,

“Well, you might want to do something about that soon, because-” she held out the last syllable before rushing on, “Imayhavejustgivenhimyouraddressandtoldhimtopickyouupatseven.” It took Ara just a second to decipher what she had just said,

“Elyse! That’s-that’s not even fifteen minutes from now! I just showered a bit ago, and-and I haven’t done anything with my hair, and you know what it does when I leave it to its own devices!” Ara was in full on panic mode, knowing subconsciously that she wasn’t getting out of this she ran around her coffee table, successfully stubbing her toe, and hopping the rest of the way into her room.

“Well,” There was no sympathy in Elyse’s voice at this point, “you should probably get on that then.” Ara could just imagine the smile that was on her friends face as she said, “Have fun!” before hanging up.
