~Chapter Four~
“Mum, Dad, I have someone to introduce you to,” I said. Liza and I had been hanging out for a while now. She was dressing normal. In awesome band t-shirts, skinny jeans, etc. Ghosts can imagine themselves wearing something, then they can actually wear it. Like an unlimited closet. If only I could do that.
“I found a friend. She's a little different, and she's very important to me. So please be nice to her,” I told my parents.
“Of course, why would we not be nice to her?” Mum said.
“Liza, you can come out now,” I announced loud enough for her to hear, wherever she was in the house.
Liza appeared in front of the table where my parents were sitting, making them jump and freak out. “Mum, Dad, this is Liza,” I said. “She's a ghost.”
“The ghost that plagued us!”
“No! Liza was masked by that other one! Now that the demon is gone, she can be seen. Liza only wants to be our friend.”
“Eek! Demon?!” Mum shrieked.
I sighed, getting impatient. I yelled. They shut up. Then I explained everything.
“So, Liza here's seen you naked, huh?” came a voice behind me. I spun around to find Ümlaut and Vlad.
“Ha! I bet there wasn't that much to see!” Vlad teased.
“Shut up, shortie! At least I'm not three feet tall!” I yelled.
“Uh, Clemmy, who are these two?” Dad asked.
“Just some friends from school,” I said. “Why are you even here? Ümlaut? Ümlaut!” I yelled to get his attention, he was staring at Liza.
“Oh, what? Uh, yeah. This Liza?” he said, looking worried.
“Yep, that's Liza. Why are you here?” I said getting a bit frustrated.
“Calm down, Scottie Dog. I just got bored and was on my way to the movies. I decided to see if you wanted to go with us.”
“Is the offer still open?”
“Yeah, you want to go?”
“Sure, you mind if Liza follows?”
“Of course not.”
As we were leaving I finally noticed my parents, still sitting at the table, absolutely confused.
“Ümlaut? What are you, Romanian?” asked Liza.
“Hey, that's what I asked him when we first met! We are too alike you and I....” I said, trailing off.
“Oh, cool! Is he Romanian?” she asked.
“Not that he knows,” I replied.
The next two hours were awkward... Need I say more? Yes, I do apparently...
In the lobby the three (Technically four, Liza just hid in my purse. Other movie-goers only saw three people) of us ran into Attikol and his new boyfriend.(Did I mention Attikol is what my American peers call “bi.” I still don't know what it's short for) Or should I say boy-toy? That's what the poor lad looked like! A chew toy... Can you tell I'm jealous? I can't believe I like him. Attikol, not the living chew toy.
Liza and I walked inside the house. She was mad. Why exactly, I don't know. She never told me.
