chapter six♥

“You dumb bitch! You didn't set your alarm! GET UP!” Liza yelled. Panicked, I shot up out of bed. I looked at the Grim Reaper clock on my wall and it was 5.29. My alarm went off.

“That was awesome!” Liza could barely breathe she was laughing so hard. Reality began to sink in and I started to giggle myself.

“Aw, that was good,” I said and yawned. I kicked her out so I could get dressed. I stretched into my liquid black leggings, my grey and black dress and my drill masters. Thus, I shuffled downstairs to hear Mum yelling.

“Elizabeth Rose Margera! You and Clemmy might have to be up this early, but I don't! Enough of this senseless yelling!” Oh, the irony...

I halted on the stars and waited for her to calm a little. She took a deep breath and went back to bed. Passing me on the stars she gave me a weak smile and said, “Morning.”

“The fuck happened?” Liza asked, eyes wide.

“I should have warned you, don't wake up Mum,” I giggled.

“Yeah, real helpful now,” she smiled. “Hey, what kind of tea you want?”

Ah, my ridiculously large tea collection... I have almost every kind of tea imaginable. From Earl Grey to Cosmic Comet and Spicy Orange, I love it all.

“Peppermint,” I requested.

“So what shall come of you and the Pot Head?” Liza asked.

“That is not a question that shall be answered before tea,” I mumbled.

“Yes, it shall! Do you like him?” Liza pressed.

“How the fuck would I know? I just met him,” I sighed.

“He's really cute...” Liza smiled.

“That he is...” I admitted.”But Romania.”

“But Romania,” Liza repeated.

“Anyway, I'm going to brush my hair. Don't even think about drinking my tea,” I warned and trudged back up the stairs.

I decided to clip my bangs back and added my usual eyeliner and trudged back downstairs for my tea.

“I wonder what will happen today with Hannigan,” Liza thought aloud.

“I don't want to deal with that prick at all,” I snapped. Over my tea cup, I saw Umlaut's car pull up.

“Come on, bitch,” I giggled as Liza flipped me off. “Morning Umlaut!” I called from the front porch.

“Morning. So I was thinking, after our sentence Saturday, how about I take you to dinner?” he asked, peeking at me shyly through his dark lashes.

“Dinner? How long is this thing?” I asked.

“I used to have Saturday school all the time, trust me. We'll be there until 6.00 at least,” he said.

“Fuck. But yeah, dinner sounds great,” I said blushing.

“You're staying home, Liza,” Umlaut laughed.

“No problem. I'd rather watch Hentai on Netflix than follow you two around,” Liza rolled her eyes.

“I'm hurt! Why?” I asked.

“Because I know that nothing will happen, love, that's why,” Liza snickered. I blushed.

“You don't know that,” Umlaut said.

...silence...

“I-I'm just saying... Uh, never mind,” he said flustered and red.

We pulled up at the school and he got out pretty quickly but he waited for me. Once again, all those jealous bitches be hating, staring daggers at me because Umlaut drives me to school. I wished that Liza wasn't invisible to them right now. Wait what? Liza wasn't just invisible, Liza was gone.

“Where's Liza?” I asked.

“It's okay I asked her for some time alone with you,” he smiled. “Come hither.”

I followed him into the band hall where I saw Cy and Pixie waving at me from the top of the tiered room. I stopped to wave back, Umlaut rolled his eyes and grabbed my wrist. He hauled me into the back practice rooms of the band hall.

Oh, no. It was like my dream all over again... Naughty things happen in those small rooms. Pixie told me that the walls practically crunched. Ew.

“Umlaut?” I asked cautiously, “What are we doing in here?”

“I need to talk to you without our friends around. You mind?”

“Uh, no?” I was so flustered and probably very red. I'd never... done anything before and I wasn't exactly stoked to start now.

“Scotty Dog,” he started with a shy smile. “Isn't it obvious?”

“Uh.... Pardon?”

“You're so adorable. I really like you, Clementine. And I want you to know that Saturday is going to be a proper date, and that I've been dying to ask you out since you got in trouble that first day,” he admitted.

I couldn't say anything. I couldn't move. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't do anything to stop myself from looking like a gawping moron. I was flummoxed. Was I dreaming again? Yeah, Liza would walk in any second and wake me up in some weird new way any second. That would mean that this would just be another dream I would wish and beg the heavens to make true.

I was dreaming. I could do whatever I wished. Right? So I kissed Romania. I had to stand on tiptoe to accomplish the task, but it happened. His lips were cold from the crisp fall morning. My heart hammered and my lungs refused to work. Breathe. Breathe, damn it!

I pulled back and gasped for air, but in vain. His green eyes were wide with worry. My grip on consciousness loosened and I tasted a metallic tang of salt just before the shadows enveloped me.
