I stood there staring at Harry, admiring really. I had been staring at him for a few seconds before he cleared his throat. I looked away casually, as if I hadn't been gawking him.
"Hi. I'm Harry! Its nice to meet you....umm" He rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed.
"Ella." I took a few steps back noticing he was only a few inches away from me.
"Right. Sorry" He stretched his arm out to me, trying to give me a hug. What is it with these people and hugging? I shot him a glare. He took a step back giving me a shy smile instead.
"Harry, why don't you show Ella to her room?" Anne suggested.
"Sure, Come on Ellie!" He grabbed my bag off the floor and walked out of the living room.
I was right behind him, "Ella." I corrected him.
He laughed walking up one of the stair cases. We went down a long hallway before he stopped in front of a large door. He lead me inside placing my bag on the large bed. I looked around the room it was huge compared to what I was used to. In some of my other homes I was lucky if I even got a bed. I usually just slept on a couch.
"You have your own bathroom", he pointed towards a door at the end of the room.
"Oh." What? My own bathroom? This is too good to be true.
"Yeah, my mom figured you should have your own bathroom. Ya know, being a girl and all. Plus I don't want you to be hogging up mine all morning!" He chuckled.
I looked around the room. I had a big bed, a desk, dresser and what I assumed was a closet. I focused my attention on a pair of glass doors. Harry noticed my stare and walked over to the door opening them. They lead out to a small balcony. I followed behind him.
"You have a nice view too! I'm kind of jealous of your room." He laughed trying to make conversation.
"You can have it. I mean, I can just sleep on the couch." I looked up at him but quickly looked away when his eyes met mine.
He laughed. "You cant sleep on the couch! Are you insane? I'm only kidding."
"Okay." The balcony was overlooking the backyard. There was a big pool with a jacuzzi, a patio with a few chairs and couches. My eyes went to the biggest tree in the yard, there was a swing hanging off a branch.
Harry shifted awkwardly next me, not knowing what else to say. I walked back into my room and towards my bag.
"Well I'll leave you to unpack." He rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm sure dinner will be ready in a little while."
I nodded acknowledging what he had just said. He gave me a warm smile before exiting my room, closing the door behind him.
I unpacked my bag placing my jeans and shirts in the dresser next to the bathroom. I opened the door to my closet, a walk in closet. I almost laughed. What did they think I was going to put in here? I'm a foster kid all my belongings wouldn't even take up half of this closet. I hung up the one dress I had and placed an extra pair of shoes on the floor before closing the door.
I fell back on my bed kicking my shoes off. Oh god was this bed comfortable. My eyes fluttered closed, I was exhausted after today. I was drifting off to sleep when I heard a knock on the door. I instantly shot up to my feet, tripping over them. I braced myself on my nightstand before the door opened.
Harry appeared in the doorway, "Hey dinner is ready."
I nodded and walked over to the door. He smiled and began to lead the way down the hall. When we reached the dining room, the table was set with four spaces. Harry went to sit in a spot instantly while I awkwardly stood in the entryway. I wasn't sure where to sit so I just stood there staring at my feet.
