Birthday Week

What a nice beginning to my birthday week. I wake up on Monday to find a "present" from my dog Henry on my carpet. Not exactly a good start to the morning but just wait, it gets worse. As I hopped over the gift from my o'so'thoughtful pooch, I landed on one of my six year old brother's hot wheels cars!

"AHHHH! COHL! Get up here!" I shrieked holding my throbbing foot. I heard the pitter patter of his little feet running up the stairs and caught a whiff of fresh strawberries. He then appeared over the top of the stairs. He just stood there with those icy blue eyes, staring at me.

He was the smallest six year old i had ever seen; he was a premature baby by four weeks! When Cohl was born the doctors told our family he had a very slim chance of living for more than a year. When he lived to be two years old our parents kept giving him names like "miracle baby" or "our priceless treasure". Luckily most of those wore off last year or he would have been made a fool of by our not so normal parents.

Mom was an art "enthusiast" as some may say. I can just plainly say shes an art freak. This is how mom's version of her art history goes:

She was a born natural, started painting when she was three, won hundreds of awards for her artistic sense since elementary school. And blah, blah, blah.

Dad claims she just took a couple of art classes in high school and buys all her paintings at local shops.

As you can tell i get my humor from Dad, but my looks from Mom. And Cohl is exactly the opposite.

Anyways, back to Cohl.

"I brought you up some special birthday week strawberries sissy!" Cohl said in his "Im adorable!" voice. The strawberries were resting in a small jar Cohl had obviously made for me. Decorated with glitter and many sequins, it definitely looked like something a kindergartener wouold do. The strawberries were coated in a thin layer of sparkling sugar and topped with a dollop of whipped cream.

"Uh thanks Cohl. But you know what i want from you for my birthday week? For you to pick up your cars! Please and thank you." As i began to stroll down the stairs i felt a little bad for Cohl so i decided to surprise him:

"Yeehee! The tickle monster is coming!" I screamed, sprinting up to tackle him with laughter.

"Noooo!!" He yelled, running away. As I continued sprinting towards him I slipped on a mini Ferrari, fell to the floor, and smacked my head pretty freakin' hard on the hardwood floor. The next ten minutes, it felt like at least, i blacked out.
