He woke up, gasping for breath. It was the nightmares again, the ones that would haunt him until the day he died.

He turned his head to the right, making sure he was still in reality, a blue table that hosted a golden bear eerily glared at him, reminding him that he would never be free from the nightmares that roamed his house.

He crawled off his bed and sat down slowly on the floor, attempting to even his breath out. Glancing at the clock, he noticed it said 12:00. No, it said 12:00 PM. Good. He wiped the sweat off his face with his black long sleeved top that had two grey stripes.

Somewhere at the other end of the house, a door opened and several footsteps ran in, voices were excitedly chattering away. Straining his ears, he managed to pick up a few words.

"He's still asleep, how about we scare him off? There's no way in hell we're going to that place for his birthday again." A familiar voice chuckled.

"Are you sure? I mean, it's a little bit mean... You could always ask to not go?" A female voice hesitantly asked.

"And ruin the fun? Oh come on! When are we gonna get another chance to terrorise him?" Another female voice boldly replied.

"Yeah, I agree with you there, a kids party is way too boring. I told this little kid that people die there during the night. You should've seen her face as she ran off crying!" Another male voice laughed, the other voices laughed along with him.

The kid slowly stood up and opened his door hesitantly, however the door creaked, just like it always does.

"Dude, he's awake!" The first voice whispered.

Brushing his light brown hair out from his eyes, he quickly bit his lip and carefully tip-toed out, bumping into a familiar person.

Knowing who it was, but dreading to see him, he slowly raised his head to look into the eyes of his older brother.

His older brother looked down at him smirking. His dark brown hair was messed up and his cold brown eyes looked down at him.

"Have you met my mates yet?" He grinned, knowing that he had and that he was terrified of them.

"I-I'll tell mummy!" He whispered.

A girl standing near him laughed. Averting his eyes to the girl, he noticed that she had short black hair and was wearing a red shirt with denim shorts. She, like his brother, looked as if she just rolled out of bed but still managing to look good. He didn't know her name, but he referred to her as Bonnie as she was constantly wearing a blue rabbit mask just to scare him along with the others.

"If you tell mummy I'll make sure that yellow bear of yours never sees the light of day again." 'Bonnie' threatened.

To the left of her, a boy with blonde hair started imitating a high-pitched eight-year-old,"Oh no, don't do it! I swear I'll do anything!"

The boy was wearing a green top with jeans. Again, he didn't know his name but referred to him as Freddy because of the brown bear mask he was holding in his right hand while leaning on Bonnie trying to hold back his laughter.

"Guys that's enough, we don't need to waste our time with him," The first female voice he heard from earlier said. She wasn't quite meeting his eyes when she said that. He liked her, she used to bring sweets round for him until she joined his brothers gang.

She had light brown hair just going past her shoulders with a fringe. She wore a long sleeved blue jumper with brown jeans. Her name was just on the tip of his tongue but he couldn't quite remember it. No matter, he called her Chica as she had a yellow chicken mask.

"Yeah, you're right, I think that's enough... For now," His brother agreed with Chica.

He found him the most terrifying, he wore a grey vest with blue shorts just going past his knees. He told his bear that he was called Foxy, even though he had a name, again a name that he couldn't quite remember.

His brother kicked him, causing him to fall over and slam his head against the floor. Tears were threatening to roll down his face, but he refused to cry in front of them.

Laughing, his brother and his friends walked out the house one by one and slammed the door.

Now he remembered his brother's name. It was Mason.

Mason Crawford.
