"You were meant to die Lorna. You weren't supposed to be alive. Yet out of pure luck, or maybe it was a curse, you got out unscathed."

~Flashback~

It was dark. It was cold. It wasn't safe. It had all the elements to a bad situation here.

But that didn't matter to them, they were happy. They were all happy.

Sarah, Lorna and Luke Wilkinson.

"Come on! We're gonna be late!" A dark-haired young girl piped up excitedly.

"Lorna, we're coming!" Sarah laughed as she ran over to her six-year-old daughter while Anthony Wilkinson stood there accompanied by Luke.

Suddenly, the girl swayed on the spot,"Mummy, I don't feel well all of a sudden!" She fell to the floor in exhaustion.

"The pills, I think they have some kind of side-effect,"Anthony said out of concern for his daughter.

"I hope she never gets better!" Luke viciously argued as he stared at the passed out form of his sister.

"Now Luke, don't say that! She's your sister for heavens sake!" Sarah stood up and faced Luke angrily.

"I don't care! I wish she never existed! Everything was fine until she came along and ruined everything!" Luke spat back.

"Don't talk to your mother like that!" - glared at his son.

Rage burned furiously in Luke's eyes as he glared at his parents. In his opinion, his good-for-nothing sister was a waste of space. Now his parents always showed affection to her and forgot about him. Luke's fists clenched as he gritted his teeth.

"I think you should stay behind and look after her." His mother quietly whispered as she brushed Lorna's hair carefully out of her face.

"Oh, of course! I always have to miss out on everything because of her!" Luke raged spitefully.

"You're staying here with her, and that's it!" Anthony argued back as he walked over to Sarah.

"Fine!" Luke crossed his arms and glared at the two of them. Nodding, they left the house as Luke walked over to his sister and kicked her unconscious body. When he noticed his parents were out of earshot, he bent down and whispered into Lorna's ear,"You ruined everything."

"Do you think they'll be okay?" Sarah asked concerned as she stepped into the passenger side of the car.

"I'm sure, Luke didn't mean it when he said he hated Lorna. Siblings always say that. Next day they act like nothing happened and they're all fine!" Anthony smiled as he started the engine,"Now come on, let's not worry and enjoy ourselves!"

Sarah sat back and sighed as she looked out the window. Noticing the blur of the cars rush by, she wondered what it was like before Lorna-Nevermind. All that was done now. What had to happen, had to happen, it was all for the best after all. Right?

"We both knew it had to happen, she would've pined for him for too long and she would have never agreed if it didn't," Anthony whispered as if he had read her mind. He slowly backed out of the drive and got onto the main road.

"Yes, but I sometimes wonder if it did more harm than good. The doctors said she wouldn't be able to cope with it if we do it again. Who knows if she meets...Him...again?" Sarah shuddered at the mere mention of 'him',"If she does and we give her those pills again, they said it would be very likely for her mental health to go unstable. She might start hallucinating and start going insane!"

Anthony's knuckles grew white as he clenched the steering wheel with both hands,"All of my actions are because I love all of you. I couldn't bear to lose our only daughter. She would've gone insane without 'him'! Better for that to have happened than her going insane! That guy had bad news written all over him and if she had stayed with him who knows what kind of messed up situations he would've gotten her into!"

Sarah sighed and leaned back into her seat as they neared a railway crossing,"Yeah, but I wouldn't have minded if she stayed with 'him'. As long as she was happy, that's all I would've cared about-"

She was cut off by Anthony cursing abruptly.

"Shit! The engines broken!" He yelled in terror as the car spluttered to a halt. Right ontop of the railway tracks,"Sarah, get out. Now!"

Sarah stared at him,"No, I'm not leaving you!"

"You have to, for our kids. Only one of is can get out here alive. I sacrifice myself if you can get out. You get out and return to the kids. If I don't survive, you'll be safe over on that side of the road, okay?"

"No!" She yelled,"I'm not going anywhere! If you die, I'll die!"

He panicked as he heard the sounds of an incoming train approaching. He shoved the passenger door open, and threw Sarah to safety on the other side of the road. He turned his gaze to the oncoming train and whispered,"Sarah, Lorna, I love you."

Then the train collided with the car as scrap metal flew everywhere and everything faded to black.

"You two may now see Sarah Wilkinson," A nurse approached Lorna and Luke as they sat impatiently for news about their mother.

As they got up, Lorna started tugging on Luke's sleeve,"What's wrong with mummy? Where's daddy?" She asked confused. Luke sighed and kept quiet as they both entered the room.

"Mummy!" Lorna squealed as she rushed over to the hospital bed her mother was currently laying on.

They could both hear a faint beep from the heart monitor nearby, showing she was still alive. Sarah's eyes flickered open and she gave her daughter and son a weak smile.

"I'm so sorry I couldn't raise both of you, I won't be able to see you two grow up. Take care of each other and understand that I'll be happy. I'll be with your father now..." She gave a last shudder of breath as the heart line monitor went flat.

Luke stood there in shock, not quite knowing how to deal with the situation at hand.

"Mummy?" Lorna asked confused as she started poking the dead form of her mother.

"Lorna quit it, she not coming back," Luke sighed as he covered his face with both hands.

"Why? Has she gone shopping for pancakes?" Lorna asked with her smile on her face.

"Goddamit Lorna! She's dead! She's not coming back, they're both dead and it's your fault! I hate you!" Luke yelled at his six-year-old sister as she started nearing to tears.

"What so she's gonna buy pancakes and eat all of them but not give any to me?" Lorna asked as she crossed her arms.

Luke groaned frustrated, he went over to a table, picked up some pills and a glass of water.

"Come on Lorna, you need your medication," He coaxed gently as he held out the pills.

"Medication? Since when did I need medication?" She asked suspiciously.

"It'll help, trust me!" He attempted to tempt her.

Still looking wary, Lorna took the pills.
