Cole POV
I woke up in a white room. Oh, yeah, the hospital. I looked around and saw Mikey staring at me, Starbucks in hand.
"What day and month is it?" I asked.
"January twenty-ninth." Mikey said, smiling.
"No, it's the twenty-seventh. I know that, because Cassie just had her baby."
"Yeah, Cassie had her baby two days ago. You've also been asleep for two days." Oh.
"When can I leave?" I asked.
"I don't know yet. They were waiting for you to wake up."
As if on cue, Doctor Fields walked in. "Good, you're awake."
"When can I go home?" I asked.
"Now." He said.
"Seriously?" I asked.
"Yes, but promise me that you wont go three days without sleeping, again." I nodded and he smiled. He walked out and I sighed in relief.
"Shit, I need clothes." I said. Mikey handed me a pair of jeans and a long sleeve shirt. "Thanks." I got up from the hospital bed and walked into the tiny bathroom. I got changed and walked out of the bathroom."Did Cassie go home yet?" I asked.
"No, not yet."
"Can we go see her?"
"Yeah." Mikey said. He took my hand and led me to Cassie's room. I walked in and smiled. Cassie was sitting in her bed holding a little blue blanket.
"Hey." I said. Cassie looked up and smiled at me.
"Back from the dead." She giggled at her little joke. "You okay?"
I noticed Frank asleep in a chair on one side of Cassie's hospital bed. "Yeah, I'm fine." I sat in a chair on the other side of her bed. Mikey stood in the doorway and drank his coffee. I looked at him and smiled. He caught me staring and smiled, causing me to blush a light pink color.
"Hey, you never answered my question." Cassie said, looking from Payton to me.
"What question?"
"Will you be Payton's godmother?"
It took me two seconds to decide. "Hell yes." Cassie smiled and looked down at Payton.
"Do you want to hold him?"
"Um, sure." I stood up from the chair and stood next to the hospital bed. "Move over." She moved until she was pressed against the guard rail and I sat on the bed next to her. She carefully handed me Payton and I smiled.
"So, Frank told me everything I said. I'm really sorry."
"It's fine. I get it. You were under a lot of stress. Plus, I am kind of a dipshit."
"Nicole Abigail Stevens, you most certainly, are not a dipshit." Cassie said, matter-of-factly. I looked down at Payton and smiled. He looked just like Cassie, beside the hair color.
"Shit!" Cassie suddenly yelled, waking Frank up.
"What?" I asked.
She turned to Frank. "We never bought a car seat and we're going home today."
"Okay, I'll go get one." Frank said and stood up.
"I'll go with you." Mikey said and followed Frank out of the room.
"Your child is absolutely adorable." I said and looked at Cassie.
"Thanks."
"No, like, I seriously may have to kill you and Frank just so I can legally have him and his adorableness."
"And this is why you are my best friend." We both smiled and laughed at her comment.
When Mikey and Frank arrived back at the hospital, Cassie, Payton, and I were ready to leave. Mikey held his hand out to me and smiled. "Ready to go home?"
I took his hand and smiled back. "Ready as I'll ever be."
Sorry it took so long! Please don't kill me!
Enjoy my minions!
