Running

I heard Beth scream. She was scared she asked me if I was ok. I didn't want her to know I was scared so I said yes. We went through an alley way still running, we had been running for about 3 hours by now we found a Forest with tall trees with loads of leaves. I had a rope and the other essentials in my bag so we climbed the tree . We heard people shouting our names. I was scared and Beth I didn't show my fear, I was to busy trying to figure out "what's next". About and 1 hour later I realised our phones could be tracked so we turned them off and took the sims out. We climbed down and walked off. Away from where we were. Beth asked were we were going. I told her we were going to the "bridge" she knew what I meant. It wasn't true we were going somewhere else, we were going to an abandoned shack. No one knew about it I had been going there a while tidying it up a bit on the inside, putting resources, food, clothes, sheets. On the out side it looked like no one had been in it for about 2 decades.
When we arrived Beth looked confused. "Where the fuck are we?" Beth whispered
"My shack! I've been tidying up for a few weeks " I explained
"What about food??"
I opened a cupboard and Beth had a more trusting look on her face.
"What about sleeping arrangements??"
We went through a door and I showed her the mattress' and sheets.
"In sorry it's not much but we will be ok. I will look after you" I said trying not to show my fear.
"Thank you Jess. But just remember that we are both 16 sometimes you need looking after as well" Beth told me .
I'm so thankful I have Beth. I looked at my watch and it was 11 o clock. I put the sim in my phone and turned it on I had nothing of anyone . I cried. I know I shouldn't of done it but surely someone cares. someone.
