Taxis in South Africa. Check out the media attached.
It is a given fact that absolutely NO two taxi rides are the same. It is a new experience every day and every ride.
South Africa's taxis have a notorious reputation for bad driving. Some of the common things to expect:
>Lots of swearing in different languages.
>A lot of hooting by both taxi drivers and other motorists
>Breaking lots of road rules. They are notorious for changing lanes without warning and stopping in the middle of the road to load and drop off passengers.
>Over crowded taxis. Expect to be squished up against a window if you're lucky because a taxi is never full. The driver will make sure there's space for you even if it means you getting squished between two people with someone's backside in your face.
>High speeds. Believe me, you will hardly ever find a slow moving taxi. Shooting the robots ( Driving past a traffic light when it is red) is just one of the things that make taxis dangerous. Most taxis have a speed limit of 100 but be aware that 100 to some taxi drivers means the minimum speed to drive at.
Some advice: Never get into a taxi if you suffer motion sickness.
