A rather annoying beeping sound woke me up. I sat up and rubbed my eyes, remembering what had happened yesterday. I pressed a button on the alarm clock, which I had been told about, and the beeping sound stopped. It was 5:30 a.m. and still dark outside. I wanted to go back to sleep, but my first day at school started at seven. I climbed out of bed and lumbered over to my closet. I picked out some random pair of pants, shoes, and a shirt. Those clothes made their way onto a hanger on the outside of the door, before I went and got a shower. I brushed my hair and braided it before putting on the clothes, along with some black flats. Yawning still, I walked out to see it was only 5:45. I sighed, just as my stomach growled. Time to get some food. I exited my room and somehow found the dining room.

As I sat down, a man came out of a door, leading to the kitchen I assumed, and walked over to me with a tray full of food in his hands. He smiled at me and placed the tray in front of me, before removing the top. "Enjoy Ms. Be... Cleo." He seemed a bit unsettled to be on a first name basis with me, but I didn't want to be treated like a superior. I wasn't one, really.

"Why, thank you sir." I did a curtsy in my chair. He smiled and seemed to hold back a laugh. I turned my eyes to my breakfast, ready to dig in, only to be disappointed.

Whatever was sitting on my plate was in a small portion and didn't look very good. It was like a bunch of squishy berries, black but clear. Looking at it again, it looked a bit like fish eggs. I had a feeling they wouldn't taste good, but I was used to that. I knew that sometimes there wasn't food available, so the fact that I had any was really good. I smiled once more and took a bite. I hated the taste but I kept on smiling so I wouldn't make the guy feel bad.

When I had choked down all of it, I got up, pushed in my chair, and walked away to go find Evan. I was going to school today, and I needed my things, like pencils, textbooks, and whatever I needed to become "future royalty."

I went wondering through a few hallways, but at last I found Evan dismissing a few people who walked away, seeming a bit disgruntled. He turned around and saw me. "Oh my, Cleo, what are you wearing? Where is your uniform? You have to go put it on now!" He exclaimed.

"Uniform?" I asked. "What uniform? I didn't see a-" Evan began pushing me through the building. Paintings, hallways, people, and decoration all flashed by my eyes, and before I knew it we were stopped right outside my bedroom.

"Hurry now! Go put on your uniform!" Evan said. I opened my mouth to ask about the uniform again, but he started talking first. "The black skirt and the white shirt! There are white socks and black shoes, and a navy blazer with red lining as well. Go. Hurry!" He pushed me into the door. My head collided with a bang. "Sorry." Evan opened the door.

I ran into the closet and quickly changed. As I ran back towards the door, my eyes looked at the clock. It was now  6:20, still much too early for me to be awake.

Evan looked up as I came flying out of the room, skidding to a stop just before I hit another wall. "Boo-yah!" I yelled, getting a shake of the head from Evan.

"Okay, so I'm going to give you your books and supplies, they will be in a messenger bag. At school today don't call out or say anything without permission, except during your free time, lunch, before and after class, and in the hallways. Try to just observe today, pay attention, but don't really participate during your academic classes. During your dance, behavior, skills, and arts classes, you'll have to, but again try to observe everyone else." He explained as we walked briskly down the halls. We reached a room and Evan came to a stop. He picked up a white leather messenger bag and handed it to me, before taking off walking again. I took a moment to inspect the bag, before running to catch up to him.

After a long while more of walking, we reached the castle entrance once more. I stepped out to the path that led to the school, blinking as the sun rose. Evan looked down at his watch and gasped. "It's 6:45! You need to get a move on!" He turned to walk back inside the castle, and took out a notepad and pen and began to write things down.

"Evan! Wait!" I called. He looked up and turned with a rather annoyed look on his face. "Bye!" I waved with a smile. He shook his head and walked back into the castle. I frowned. That was no way to say goodbye! He was being very rude. I sighed and began the long walk towards the school, and as I thought about things I became more and more nervous. No one was going to like me, I was going to embarrass myself, and there was no doubt that I would be super awkward. Everyone else would be perfect at everything, and I would be the exact opposite.

I kicked some dirt as I walked in the early morning light. I sighed and shook my head. Today was going to be awful, I just knew it. Today was definitely going to be horrible. Everything that could possibly go wrong would, and my life would be ruined forever. As a closed my eyes and took a deep breath, I realized the quiet that had been there before was now filled with hundreds of voices in the distance. I opened up my eyes and began walking, trying to seem confident.

As I turned a corner, I saw the regal looking school again, but now it was filled with fancy looking people. As I got closer I could tell they were all teenagers, probably my fellow students. Everyone was wearing the navy and red blazer, but the boys wore long blacks pants instead of the black miniskirts the girls were wearing. I giggled, imagining all the boys in miniskirts. I looked around and sighed, again. Today was my first day at probably the fanciest school in the world, and I had been homeless my entire life. Today was going to be awful.
