AS THEY WALKING TO DELWOOD'S FERRY, AMANDA REMEMBERS SHE HAD FORGOTTEN SOMETHING IN HER DORMITORY ROOM. AMANDA TURNS TO WALK BACK TO THE SCHOOL WHEN SHE WAS STOPPED IN HER TRACKS. SHE NOTICES THE SKY GROWING DARK WITH THICK CLOUDS LOOMING OVER THE SCHOOL; SHE WONDER IF HER FRIENDS HAVE NOTICE IT AS WELL. THE SKY GROWS DARK WITH THICK CLOUDS LOOMING OVER THE SCHOOL, A VOICE DRIFTING IN THE WIND WHISPER TO AMANDA AND HER FRIENDS. 'THIS ISN'T THE END.' AS A FOG ROLL IN OUT OF NOWHERE COVER THE SCHOOL LIKE A BLANKET; AMANDA ATTEMPTED TO MOVE BUT HER FEET WOULDN'T MOVE.
AMANDA FELT SOMETHING GRIPPING AT HER HANDS WHEN SHE LOOKED DOWN AND REMEMBER WHAT SHE HAD FORGOTTEN. A BOOK IS PLACE IN AMANDA'S HAND. AS SUDDENLY AS THE SKY GREW DARK WITH THICK CLOUDS; DISAPPEAR OVER THE HORIZON ALONG WITH THE FOG THAT ROLL IN AS WELL. THE SCHOOL LOOKED THE SAME AS BEFORE LIKE NOTHING HAD HAPPEN. AMANDA COULD MOVE AGAIN AS WELL AS HER FRIENDS. AMANDA CONTINUES ONTO THE DELWOOD'S FERRY TO GO HOME. SHE SAYS HER FINAL FAREWELLS TO HER PROFESSORS AS TO PROFESSOR DAGFINHER.
AMANDA IS LOOKING FORWARD TO GOING HOME BECAUSE SHE MISSED HER PARENTS; JOANNA AND PETER. ISMAY WALKS UP TO AMANDA AND ASKS HER IF SHE HEARD THE STRANGE VOICE IN THE WIND. AMANDA TURNS TOWARDS ISMAY AND SAYS, 'YES, I DID HEAR THE STRANGE VOICE IN THE WIND. DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT IT SAID?'
'YES, I DO. IT SAID, "THIS ISN'T THE END." IT SENDS SHIMMER UP MY SPINAL.'
'IT DID MINE.'
WHILE ON THE DELWOOD'S FERRY, MATTHEW AND MELVIN WERE ALSO DISCUSSING THE STRANGE VOICE THEY ALSO HEARD IN THE WIND. MATTHEW ASKS MELVIN IF HE REMEMBERS WHAT THE VOICE SAID. MELVIN TELLS MATTHEW THAT HE TRYING TO REMEMBER BUT ALL HE COULD REMEMBER THE FEELING HE HAD WHEN IT SPOKE. MELVIN TELLS MATTHEW; HE DOESN'T REMEMBER WHAT THE STRANGE VOICE SAID BUT HE DOES REMEMBER THE SKY GROWING DARK WITH CLOUDS LOOMING OVER THE SCHOOL. MATTHEW TELLS MELVIN; HE REMEMBERS THE SKY GROWING DARKER AND HER HEARD THE VOICE WITH ITS WARNING. HE ALSO REMEMBERS SEEING AMANDA WALKING BACK TO THE SCHOOL. HE WONDERS WHY SHE WOULD BE WALKING BACK TO SCHOOL.
HE DECIDES TO CALL TO HER WHEN THE SKY CLEARED. SUDDENLY HE DOES NOT REMEMBER CALLING TO HER. EVERYONE ELSE DIDN'T HEAR THE STRANGE VOICE ON THE WIND BUT FOR STEVEN IS ALSO HEARD THE STRANGE VOICE. HE DECIDES TO KEEP IT TO HIMSELF FOR TIME BEING. AS THE DELWOOD'S FERRY IS ARRIVING AT THE BUS STATION; AMANDA TELLS ISMAY THAT SHE DOESN'T REMEMBER CARRYING THE BOOK WITH HER WHEN THEY WALKING TO THE DOCK TO BOARDED THE DELWOOD'S FERRY.
MEANWHILE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FERRY, ROSETTA AND DEBORAH ARE DISCUSSING THE STRANGE VOICE AS WELL. ISMAY ASKS HER FRIEND; 'WHAT DO YOU MEAN?' AS AMANDA IS PLACING THE BOOK INTO HER BACKPACK, SHE TELLS ISMAY THAT SHE DIDN'T HAVE THE BOOK ON HER. SHE WAS GOING BACK FOR IT WHEN THE SKY GREW DARK WITH THICK CLOUDS LOOMED OVER THE SCHOOL. IN WHICH THE STRANGE VOICE ON THE WIND APPEAR, WHISPERING IN HER EAR WITH A MESSAGE OF SOME KIND. ISMAY TELLS AMANDA WHAT SHE REMEMBERS OF WHAT HAPPEN.
'FIRST, I REMEMBER YOU RUNNING FROM THE CLIFF STAIRS TO THE DOCKS TO CATCH THE FERRY. I ALSO REMEMBER YOU CARRYING SOMETHING IN YOUR HAND. AFTER THAT I SAW THE SKY WERE STARTING TO GET DARK WITH THICK CLOUDS LOOMING OVER THE SCHOOL; I HEARD THE STRANGE VOICE ON THE WIND; WHISPERING IN MY EAR WITH A MESSAGE.'
'THAT IS SOUNDS SIMILAR TO WHAT I EXPERIENCE BUT TO A POINT ABOUT SOMETHING BEING IN MY HAND. I REMEMBER I NEEDED TO GO BACK TO MY DORMITORY ROOM TO RETRIEVE THE BOOK.'
'THAT IS STRANGE BECAUSE WE REMEMBER CERTAIN EVENTS TO A POINT THAN OUR REMEMBER DRIFT.'
'THAT IS STRANGE IN ITSELF.'
AFTER AMANDA AND ISMAY FINISH THEIR CONSERVATION ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FERRY; MATTHEW AND MELVIN ARE DISCUSSING THE BIZARRE VOICE.
THEY REACH THE DOCKS AT THE BUS STATION; WHERE THEY DOCK AND UNBOARD TO WALK TO THEIR BUSES. AS THEY WERE WALKING TO THEIR BUSES; AMANDA TELLS ISMAY THAT SHE WILL WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING SHE REMEMBERS ABOUT WHAT HAPPEN TODAY IN HER JOURNAL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. AMANDA, ROSETTA, AND MELVIN BOARDED THEIR BUS TO HEAD HOME FOR SUMMER. ROSETTA SITS NEXT HER COUSIN, AMANDA FOR THE RIDE HOME. AMANDA TURNS TOWARDS HER COUSIN, ROSETTA; TO ASKS HER WHAT SHE REMEMBER ABOUT WHAT HAD HAPPEN AT THE DELWOOD'S FERRY DOCKS BEFORE THEY BOARDED THE FERRY.
