Chapter 17: Love

Sambar's P.O.V.

I paced back and forth, looking at Gwen. Tenson had knocked her out, he actually cracked her skull. Thank god she was a vampire or else she never would have healed so fast. She was still asleep though and I didn't know when she would wake up.

"Sambar," I heard Loki say.

"I see you woke up," I said.

"I thought I died, why am I still here," Loki asked.

"I saved you, when you were about to die I turned you," I said.

"What! You turned me into a vampire!", Loki yelled.

"What else was I supposed to do? Let you die, Gwen would kill me if I did that," I said.

"You could have taken care of her and the kids. She would have forgave you," he said.

"No despite what you think she loves you, more than she loves me. And that's why I'm letting her go," I said sadly.

"Wait what do you mean?", Loki asked.

"I can't ruin a family. And during our time together it was evident that she still loved you. I heard that Tenson cast a lust spell on you that you didn't really mean to cheat on her. Now that I know you love her, I don't want to come in-between you guys," I said.

"Do you love Gwen?", Loki asked.

"Yes, but she doesn't love me. She loves what I give her, comfort, safety, reassurance. She's not in love with me it's you she loves. That's why she's stuck with you through thick and thin," I said.

"Well I know this must be weird, but thanks for being there for her when I was out of it," Loki said.

"No problem and please don't hurt her Loki," I said.

"I won't," he said.

"Good," I said. I went over to Gwen and kissed her on the forehead.

"Goodbye Gwen," I said. I left out and tears fell out of my eyes, but I knew in my heart what I was doing was the right thing.

Loki's P.O.V.

I looked at Gwen and almost cried. I remembered the look on her face everytime she found out I cheated. It was hard watching it, living through it. I was always there on the inside, begging and pleading to get out. There were a few moments when I was released and I tried to tell Gwen that something was wrong. She never listened. I chuckled slightly she was so stubborn.

I stroked her cheek gently. I hope that she would wake up soon.

"I love you so much, baby," I said as I kissed her on the lips.

"Loki," she mumbled against my lips.

"Gwen!", I exclaimed. Gwen woke up fully and looked at me.

"Loki your a vampire!"

"I know baby, Sambar changed me I almost died," I said.

"Sambar? Where's Sambar?", she asked.

"He left. I have to ask you something. Do you love Sambar?", I asked.

"Yes," she said, her eyes glossing over with tears.

"But I love you, I will always love you," she said.

"You love me, but your not in love with me anymore," I said.

"I'm scared, Loki. I'm scared to let go," Gwen said as tears made their way done her face.

"Don't be afraid. Sometimes what you love you have to let go and I'm letting you go. I know what I did to you regardless of whether I was in control or not hurt you," I said.

"But what if we're making a big mistake right now," she said, still crying.

"Then we'll come back to each other," I said weakly as tears, started to fall.

"I love you Gwen. Always," I said.

"Always," Gwen repeated as she wiped her away her tears.

''Go get him," I said, smiling weakly. Gwen nodded her head as she got up.

"Good bye, Loki," she said.

"Good bye, Gwen," I replied. Gwen looked at me one last time before the door closed.

Gwen's P.O.V.

I walked out that room. My heart hurting, but when I thought of Sambar it made everything better. I smiled softly to myself. I was going to go get my man. I ran out the door and saw a very distant figure walking.

"Sambar!", I yelled. He didn't turn around.

"Sambar!", I screamed loudly this time. I saw him turn around. I ran in vampire speed toward him. I collided into him and we fell on the ground.

"It's you, its always been you," I sighed.

"You mean?", he asked. I nodded my head frantically tears falling out of my eyes.

"Yes, I love you Sambar. I want to be with you," I said. He kissed me passionately.

"I love you too," he said, pure love showing through his eyes. We stayed in each others arms for a while, soaking up each others affection.

I never understood people when they would talk about their first love. I always believed that you couldn't have many loves in your life, that there was just that one person that set your soul on fire. But through my experience I learned that sometimes, you can't help yourself. You fall out of love with a person. It hurts a lot to let them go, but in the end you won't regret it. But something in the back of my mind told me I would.
